    r/litecoin should add flairs

    Posted: 16 Feb 2021 05:40 AM PST

Hello together, with the current increase of members we should think about creating default flairs to structure content and find easier what suits personal interest.

I would go with a small number but good defined ones:

    Proposal: - News - Memes - Unspecific

    Buy stuff with litecoin ?

    Posted: 16 Feb 2021 07:38 AM PST

Im new to crypto and litecoin so this is a noob question.. I see all this companies accepting crypto as payment, but why would anyone want to pay with crypto when it keeps going up in value, I much rather hold my litecoin and pay with fiat money that keeps going down in value.. But maybe im missing something here?

I Am a Full Time Leather Crafter: I just added Litecoin via coinbase to my payment options.!

I Am a Full Time Leather Crafter: I just added Litecoin via coinbase to my payment options.!

This is a shameless plug. But Covid blows. And I could use your support.

You can use litecoin to buy my leather goods on my website: www.blackbearleather.com

Black Bear Leather is just me, Michael. This has been my full time gig for over 6 years. I have been mildly successful. And I love it. I've made and sold over 8,000 products. This past summer I even made the voting card wallets for the current US House of Representatives, which was kind of awesome for me.

But Covid totally blows. And my sales have been down 75% since covid started. But I continue to fight through! Herd immunity is around the corner. I so very hope. (Please let this be over soon!).

I usually sell in person at Washington DC's eastern market every Saturday and Sunday. But I haven't been able to sell in Washington DC since March 2020. So, I have been relying a lot on my online sales.

I recently some Litecoin as a long term investment for my baby son's college fund. And, I thought it'd be awesome to be able to add litecoin as a payment option. As luck would have it, Coinbase offers Shopify integration for payment.

So, now you can purchase my leather goods using litecoin and a handful of other cryptos.!

Need help accessing my LTC paper wallet and identifying my private key format

    Posted: 16 Feb 2021 11:49 AM PST

Hi all, I've been storing my LTC on a paper wallet for the past few years. Yesterday I downloaded Electrum. I can import the public key and open a watch-only wallet, but when I try to import the private key, it won't let me click sweep.

Do I need to decrypt the private key I have? It starts with 6 and is 51 characters. Help would be much appreciated. I'm fairly certain the key itself is correct.

New crypto investor here, is Litecoin a good investment?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2021 05:38 PM PST

Sorry for such a noobie question. I just discovered LTC and am wondering if this is a good alternative to some of the more popular cryptos. I see that the last five years have been pretty volatile with the last three months seeing a pretty big increase. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Everyone!

Hi everyone, I started hearing about the coin and its probable applications in fast trade situations. I believe that the Paypal usage will be opening the coin to a lot of institutional investment as well. I just converted some funds to this project, I think in the long hall it has good potential! Looking forward to seeing a bigger social circle adopting it

    Stake LTC

    Posted: 16 Feb 2021 05:18 AM PST

I have recently read a book by Robert T. Kiyosaki who said "The rich get richer by putting their money to work".

If you already have LTC , you can put it to work while HODLing for the 5x.

I am using BlockFi it pays back a 6.5 APY , it's the highest APY from what i have seen up until now. And it's rather simple to do it , just deposit the LTC from an exchange , let it there , and get richer .

    Cheers ;)

Need help restore a wallet file (.dat) from 2017

    Posted: 15 Feb 2021 09:20 PM PST

Hello everyone, I have a backup wallet file from 2017. I have tried to restore it to a LTC wallet, but haven't succeeded.

I don't remember how I made the backup file so I tried both Litecoin Core and Electrum-Lite wallets, but they keep showing error message saying that my backup file is invalid.

Steps I do to restore the backup:

    - Download the wallet software

    - Copy my backup file to the software wallet directory

My dat file has content of this format inside:

    ...

    kwqVHDAF8d6/c6sHobgarlK46CvpzRjp2P5eqwq6aWmB/cnsFuXXsCIdxgMsQJcf

    +GzIfnpPWyxig6TG9gL6gKbcYDzYQ0JPYYSHxqWT0GKwsQYUHyFVXZYT1w5O/Xor

    ...

There are 2048 lines as such.

    Please help, thank you.

How do I do a rescan of my Litecoin Core desktop wallet?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2021 03:03 PM PST

I'm sort of an amateur when it comes to this stuff. I need to do a rescan of my desktop wallet because (long story short) my balance is not showing up correctly. This same thing happened to me a few years ago and I remember someone advised me to do a rescan and it worked. But now I can't find the directions to do that again. Can someone let me know how to do a rescan on a mac? Any help is appreciated. I currently am on Litecoin Core version v0.18.1 (64-bit).

    Thanks!
