    Days ETH went down?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 06:07 PM PST

I am having a chat with my cousin who is heavily invested in Avax. He claims that even Ethereum went down for like 3 days but can't show evidence.

I mean ETH didn't had the smoothest start with the Dao hack or the DDos of Devcon but it was still running unlike avax.

So are the days where Ethereum wasn't working at all like not producing blocks at all?

A million dollars question: How much longer before I can buy a company stock, "Tesla" from a Dapp on Ethereum?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 12:21 PM PST

I have been asking myself this question for quite sometime now, and I am hoping that someone can help me understand what is truly required for such a dapp to emerge. Can the stock market be easily digitalised? could we easily get rids of all the entangled financials institutions we have today? Is it a pure probably of liquidity, and how much crypto can be locked in blockchain as a collateral ? ...

any answer, comment or thought is welcome. thanks a lot

    Staking for poor people

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 01:32 PM PST

Hey, I'm looking into staking but from what I can see, it requires quite a bit of money. I'm a real life poor and can only ever manage to save up maybe 100€ a month max. How much would I need to get this process going? I took my pets to the vet recently so I lost all my savings now but am looking to get going again this month.

    Any tips are appreciated.

    Is staking safe?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 08:59 AM PST

Hi, I'm pretty new to crypto but one of the few takeaways I've seen is that I should move my coins out of exchanges and put them in my wallet as soon as possible.

Now with the possibility of staking ETH, which I'd like to do, I obviously have to keep my coins in an exchange because I don't have 32 eth to run my own node.

Is there any safety concern I should know about? Is this safe? I plan to do it on kraken probably

Ethereum Transaction Fail From Trezor ???

    Hi All,

I have been trying to withdraw ETH from my Trezor wallet and every time, the transaction fails within about 45 seconds after the 2nd or 3rd confirmation. I have generated the transaction a couple times, each time using higher and higher gas fees.

I tried as high a transaction fee as .0148 ETH (~$25). Is this still too low? I know fees are getting out of hand, but this is still not enough? I don't want to keep attempting transactions because the fee is a sunk cost for a failed transaction. Am I doing something else wrong? Could there be another issue?

I have transacted ETH and other crypto thousands of times, so this is odd to me...

    Thank you all.

EDIT: I am an idiot and gas limit was my problem... Thanks everyone

Building a ETH based lottery - looking for feedback

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 06:12 PM PST

Working on a provably fair lottery for ETH with no house edge, and I wanted some feedback on a few parameters. Generally speaking, anyone is allowed to make a new lottery (raffle?) with a fixed number of tickets with a price more than the minimum bet. Aside from fees needed to pay for the random() generation in an outside contract (provable / oraclize) all winnings minus a small fee will be sent to the winner of the round. The round closes as soon as the last ticket is sold.

What I am looking for are ideas on:
    1. Should the bet size be fixed (say 0.1 eth)? Or, should it be configurable by the creator with a minimum?
    2. What is a fair house fee for the contract? I will be looking to be able to recoup the deployment costs as well as the hosting costs given I hodl more solidity code than eth lol.
    3. Would you play?

    Appreciate your thoughts!
