Is Bitcoin Cash actually better then Bitcoin?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 11:40 PM PST

I wonder what's the reason why Bitcoin Cash transactions are faster and the cost lower then Bitcoin.

Isn't it only because BCH has a lower price? How do the amounts of transactions compare? I know there are some tools but I couldn't find them.

    Edit: typo

Everyone who participates in our flipstarter will be awarded Verde Points (SLP), and can redeem them for merch and other perks!

    Posted: 01 Feb 2021 06:16 AM PST

Bitcoin Verde made its "Bitcoin Verde Points" (our SLP Token) available a couple of months ago at donate.bitcoinverde.org. Verde Points can be used to redeem Bitcoin Verde swag and other perks. (Check out the perks we're offering here at the bottom of the page.) We did our best to offer items that people would find fun and useful while also not being overly complicated so we can focus on developing Bitcoin Verde without too much focus being lost on inventory and shipping of the merch--which is also why some of the items are relatively expensive. Verde Points are intended to be a way to show our appreciation for your support. The can also hold Verde Points for prestige.

The way it normally works is donate.bitcoinverde.org (we call it "Dev Tokens", and plan on making it open-source later this month) monitors the donation address (which are unique per user) and sends SLP back to the originating addresses. Alternatively, you can provide a simpleledger address to have your Verde Points delivered somewhere else. Verde Points are loosely tied to $50 per token at the time of donation, which is just a metric we used to make sure the merch costs don't suddenly outweigh the contributed amount and to ensure a hoodie doesn't suddenly cost $30,000.

This weekend I modified Dev Tokens to also watch our flipstarter address, so each person that contributed to the campaign will receive a proportional amount of Verde Points, assuming they've donated $50 or more.

To my knowledge, all of the wallets that support the flipstarter protocol also support SLP so this mechanism should work fairly well on its own, however if anyone's Verde Points are unclaimable or get burned then reach out and we'll do our best to make sure you still get them.

We're 75% of the way there and have 8 days left, and I'm optimistic we'll reach our goal. Thank you everyone who has contributed to our Verde 2021 campaign so far; we really appreciate your support, and we look forward to keep improving the Bitcoin Verde node and the BCH network as a whole.

Newcomers, do yourselves a favor and read the pinned post to understand this sub better.

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 03:34 PM PST

You might be wondering, "Why are my memes and posts about BTC price getting downvotes?" Or, "Why am I seeing a lot of posts about BCH in a BTC sub?"

Wonder no more! Check out the pinned post and learn a little.

I'll add that you won't find a crypto sub with more intelligent people and thoughtful posts. Price gains are fun, but they're only the cherry on top. This community finds a ton of value in technological discussion, deep questions about cryptocurrency's place in the world, and on-chain scaling for global P2P cash.

This is an uncensored sub about any and all Bitcoin forks. What happens when you allow people to talk about any fork of Bitcoin? Well, it turns out they talk about the one that works the best - Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin Cash continues the original mission of Bitcoin, as described in the original whitepaper by Satoshi Nakamoto. That means scaling on-chain and extremely low fees.

You'll also find a lot of talk about exciting new developments in the Bitcoin Cash world. Flipstarter, AnyHedge, Detoken, Simple Ledger Protocol, noise.cash, read.cash, Memo, Member, ElectronCash, CashFusion, CashTokens, scalenet, and many other things. If you don't know what those things are, you should search this sub and Google and learn about them because it's stuff like this that is going to change the world!

If you have questions, feel free to ask. Don't be a jerk about it and you'll find people here are ready to show you what we've been up to in the BCH world.

    What tx fee to choose?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2021 06:03 AM PST

Thanks for so much input in Is Bitcoin Cash actually better then Bitcoin? BCH does seem pretty promising. Made my first BCH tx now, but a question arose: What tx fee to choose?

When using btc I often checked https://bitcoinfees.net/ to see how much time the confirmation of my tx would take. I guess this madness is not needed in BCH, right?

Nonetheless I want to know what's a good amount of fees to give. I used Electron Cash but couldn't find any tx speed estimate or something like that.

I just paid for a twitch sub using Bitcoin Cash

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 11:07 AM PST

The process was really streamlined, selected bitpay and then clicked the Electron Cash link, my wallet auto opened and everything filled in. Then I paid and the website reacted a second later.

The only thing that sucked was that bitpay no longer does 0 conf. The moment a block was found I was subbed and the streamer saw it.

I would really like bitpay to enable 0 conf again for low value transactions.
