    XRP from an Indian perspective

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 08:42 AM PST

A few years back btc was declared illigal by RBI, India. All the crypto exchanges were shutdown and people lost millions in cryptos. At the end btc was even sold at 25% of their value.

Some of us held on to the uncertainty. Maybe we were quite foolish.

I find myself in the same position now with xrp. Ripple lab has done considerable progress in terms of technology. Right now nothing has changed in that front.

Each one of us must be convinced of their own ideas and then proceed. Calculate the worst scenario and the risks. Hold on to your convictions.

The worst thing to do now panic without any strategy.

You know why a non-swimmer drowns? He panics and uses up all his energy, till he cannot swim anymore. Swimming takes just a little effort. You just need to know how to!

Bittrex Global to continue listing all XRP pairings.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 07:16 PM PST

Only Bittrex (The US arm of Bittrex) will delist XRP pairings. Customers will still have access to and the ability to withdraw their XRP tokens. All Bittrex customers would have received a notice declaring USD, USDT, BTC & ETH pairings of XRP will be delisted. Bittrex Global (Bittrex Global is a separate legal entity from Bittrex. Bittrex Global does not operate in the U.S. and has offices in Liechtenstein and Bermuda) customers ie anyone outside of the US, WILL NOT have received this caution and have not declared they will deslist any of XRP's pairings. Bittrex Global sells tokenised stocks 24/7 including Apple, Tesla and Google.

    Ripple vs SEC

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 08:14 PM PST

The thing that I am worried about most is that xrp is delisted / halted in USA during the bull run while the lawsuit is in progress. The price of xrp will shoot up due to trading from outside USA and I will be left holding the bags because I don't have any on/off ramp.

Jay Clayton hosted SEC meeting with Ripple on 8/20/18

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 09:48 AM PST

Jay Clayton hosted a SEC meeting with Ripple on 8/20/18: https://www.sec.gov/foia/docs/secchaircalendar/chairman-clayton-calendar-2018-8.pdf

Monday, August 20, 2018 11:00 am Meeting with Ripple, including: Brad Garlinghouse, CEO; David Schwartz, Chief Technology Officer; and John Roscoe, Special Assistant to the President, White House Office of Presidential Personnel

The XRP community deserve to know what was discussed and recommended to Ripple during this meeting. Including if Ripple ignored any SEC advice or guidance provided from this meeting. As well as if they followed the guidance and recommendations provided from SEC. I sent a email request to the SEC to receive the meeting notes, which I am doubtful they will share publicly.

Sec timelines for non USA holders

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 03:49 AM PST

For those of us outside of the USA can you please give us an idea of the litigation timeline for this kind of action against ripple. Obviously xrp is a currency and not a security so I'd like to think this could be sorted relatively quickly?

Best regards from the rest of the world who don't give a fuck about the the sec..

A short analysis to the XRP case

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 12:38 AM PST

From my understanding of SEC complaint, it seeks to:

    • Stop defendants (Ripple and 2 individuals) from violating securities act
    • Give up their XRP gains + interest
    • Ban them from offering future securities
    • Civil financial penalties

    Source: SEC Complaint

I think the SEC has a strong case against Ripple selling additional XRP, but they won't enforce it on what's in the market (I believe is 40% of XRP's total 100B?) for 3 reasons:

    • It is not in the interest of the investors (that's what the SEC is trying to protect in the first place)
    • The market is currently using XRP as a currency, not as a security. There is no doubt about that
    • Many banks/creditors use Ripple, the conversion of XRP to a security would cause additional harm to the market

I see this as a very ugly fight for Ripple as they're going to come out of it with a lot of debt and no immediate assets to sell but I still see a path for them moving forward, potentially through borrowing and/or negotiating an IPO with the SEC that does not include XRP

What are your thoughts? What do you think is Ripple's worst case scenario?

Disclaimer: I own 0 XRP now but contemplating buying XRP as a high risk/ high reward asset.

How long do orders to buy XRP usually take?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 11:43 AM PST

I've placed an order to buy 638 XRP with a price of 25 cents each, which is higher than it's listed on exchanges, and it still hasn't gone through. How long can I expect to wait before the order goes through? When I sold XRP for USD a week ago it was instant.

Can Ripple still settle with SEC?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 04:44 PM PST

So the Pre trial date seems to be set for February 22 2021. Looks like they can still settle with SEC before that. My question : can they just settle with SEC with a fine and a promise to not sell their holding of xrp from escrow in USA market. But they can still sell it outside of USA. Ripple did say >90% of their business is outside USA. So they should be ok with that correct? Or could SEC have a say in where it can sell their escrowed xrp?

Does anyone know how to get my funds out of my ripple desktop wallet?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 01:39 PM PST

I'm trying to get my 200 USD out of my ripple desktop wallet and into an exchange so I can cash out, but it looks like I can only send XRP out of the ripple desktop wallet. I've put in an order to buy a bunch of XRP much higher than what its listed on the exchanges (26 cents per XRP) but it still hasn't gone through, I did this an hour ago and still nothing. When I originally turned the XRP into USD a week ago on my ripple wallet it was instant. Can anyone please help me figure out what's going on?

EDIT: I just tested it, and when I try and buy USD with XRP at the exact same amount through my Ripple Desktop Wallet it goes through instantly...

EDIT 2: How is it that not one person on a subreddit dedicated to ripple knows how to get the money out of the ripple wallet lmao, shows how useless this shit is
