best thing I've read thus far....0% chance a security.

    XRP - unlike securities;

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 07:03 AM PST

    #XRP, unlike securities;

    • Decentralized - if Ripple went away XRP would stay, not a common enterprise.
    • Programmed burn rate - a drop of XRP is burned to prevent spam attacks on the XRP ledger. I'm pretty sure corporate stocks and securities don't burn on transaction...
    • Non-contractual - No ownership rights to Ripple the company.
    • Designed as a medium of exchange to avoid long-term volatility - therefor not an expectation of profit (from the company), but a utility to reduce volatility and reduce corporate costs.

    - Any expectation of profit from a retailers was speculation and based on price fluctuations
from supply/demand. Much like if I were to buy a lot of oil expecting the price of oil to go
up in the next couple years... No expectation of profit from Ripple at all.

In my mind, XRP is like refined oil in a digital space, positioned and distributed for utility. Oil companies aren't selling a share of their company when they sell oil to distributers...

Are whales accumulating? Or just exchanges from sellers?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 03:30 PM PST

I been digging around on Wietse Wind's XRP stats. Looking for whales who are buying. Found some addresses that might not be exchanges!

    rPdGYed6NcnKb3wkbHhHWNNTZ8gYNgLumR

I looked him up on XRPscan too: https://xrpscan.com/.../rPdGYed6NcnKb3wkbHhHWNNTZ8gYNgLumR
Whales are indeed accumulating. I found a few other addresses that might be accumulating:
    rUjQoGA1bxnxSPYZWmGwz8rvkhP7mFJwmy
    rw459rNbAHsN2Koi7zzWCXCQGKQgYEUCoG

Looking at the addresses in the 500k-1m range. The bigger ones I think are mostly exchanges. I barely just started doing this. wonder what else I will find. Hope others dig some stuff up too!

Word of warning about timing the market

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 07:58 AM PST

My personal bet is that XRP will tank in the short term, but in 1-2 years there will be a settlement between the SEC and Ripple. Ripple and its execs will pay a huge-ass fine, and in return there will be some sort of 'no action' letter. They'll somewhat declare that XRP was a security, but not anymore.

In the short term we may see exchanges that do business in the US suspend US-based XRP sales. Coinbase may, too, especially since (on its other hand) it's trying to become a publicly traded company.

So the urge to sell now and buy back later is huge. But if you don't need the money, and you've got your XRP off exchange wallets, I'd recommend that you stick to a long term plan to hold.

Here's why: You may not be able to buy back in later, at least not until it's too late. To gain from cryptos you have to be positioned in them ahead of time and not FOMO in. If later on down the road there is a settlement, the price will skyrocket way before exchanges resume US purchases... and you'll have missed out.

TL/DR - If you're not a day trader, stick to your strategy. If you're a long term hodler, forget about XRP for another 1-2 years.

Edit: To be clear, I'm not saying "don't sell". If you think you should sell, by all means you do you. I'm just saying not to sell if your intent is to try to buy back in lower. Have people been successful doing that? Sure, but the odds (and machinery) may be against you severely on this one.

if US exchanges start delisting or halting XRP but trading continues around the globe......

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 11:42 PM PST

Where does that leave the SEC case. If 90+ percent of trading happens outside the USA and it continues once the exchanges halt, then we are looking at a decentralised ledger. How can a US security be traded around the globe?

What if XRP has always been the one? With a quantum computer could steal the bitcoins before the transaction is finalized. In principal Eve only has 10 minutes to find the private key before the transaction is finalized.

Can someone explain the best case and worst case scenarios with Ripple/XRP long term in light of recent events?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 06:40 AM PST

Title pretty much says it. I buy and hold pretty much all of my investments crypto or not. I'm curious what to expect regarding the SEC case, depending on the news. Thinking of a 5-10 year timeline. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do I get my 20 XRP reserve out of Toast Wallet?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 11:00 AM PST

I tested a small XRP transaction from my Toast Wallet to Coinbase and it went smoothly. I want to send all my XRP to Coinbase since it's just a small amount and it's easier to manage over there.

When I tried sending all my XRP from Toast to Coinbase it tells me I need to leave 20 XRP in there. Is there any way around this or is my last 20 XRP toast?

The institutional sales thing is pretty damning, as are the restrictions they put on XRP transactions.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 03:35 PM PST

I don't know why people say XRP is so independent of Ripple's control. They were selling vast amounts of XRP at deep discounts and putting restrictions on the sale so that the buyers couldn't sell and effect the price of XRP.

They also paid people in XRP with stipulation that it couldn't be sold for X amount of time. This is like the definition of security vesting.

If XRP is so independent of Ripple, why does Ripple own the majority of XRP and have massive control over the value of XRP? Why are they putting restrictions on the sale of a "currency".

When's the last time a company paid it's employees in USD and then said they can't spend that USD for X months? It's absurd.

If you are on the SEC radar, You are now a Player in the Game.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 06:13 AM PST

The SEC, Treasury Dept., Federal Reserve, and Wall St. are revolving doors of people in Finance. This lawsuit is to start regulations of crypto in the United states, everything in finance starts with lawsuits. So please dump as much XRP as you can so I can be a millionaire in 2022. Thanks.
