    Ethereum Value of holding Ether?

    Value of holding Ether?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 10:11 AM PST

    Hi everyone!

Newish to crypto currencies and currently only invested in BTC and ETH. I see the use case of ethereum decentralized apps and having to pay ETH to use the network, however, I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on holding ETH in hopes of the value going up.

    1. Wouldn't expensive ETH make using the network too pricey to be viable?
    2. If ETH is meant to be used (unlike BTC which is meant more of a store of value), how is the value of it going to increase?

A friend sent his 10k in USDC from binance to coinbase. However, even though transaction went through, the coins were not received. What happened, and is there any way to remedy this situation?

What is "tax interview" application that is accessing my profile information on Coinbase?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 02:17 PM PST

Under the activity tab, I see a third party application called "tax interview" that is regularly pulling my "basic/public profile information". I have never approved any third party applications.

Does anyone know what this is about?

Question on the derivation of the value of ETH

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 07:31 AM PST

Noob question, but it seems that many people refer to buying ETH or BTC as an activity similar to investing in a company's stock.

In the case of investing in a company's stock, it is more clear to me why a company's success will result in increase in stock price.

But in the case that a crypto's network becomes more valuable (gaining mainstream acceptance, greater # or use-cases), why will the value of the underlying currency increase?

could this work as a DAPP?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 03:12 PM PST

i am not sure if this would work, but is there a way to take small videos and upload them to the blockchain? i think it would be neat if a person could save small moments from their life and have a way to scan a qr code so people could watch random moments from this person's life once they are gone. i dnk if it would actually work out, but interested to see if it could be a possiblity.

To stake or not to stake?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 12:01 PM PST

As of right now, I have no plans of selling my eth ever. I'll hold it even if it drops to zero. I am just a bit paranoid about staking because it's a new thing and I dont think i want to be the guinea pig if something goes wrong. I haven't done anything with eth yet so even if I do something wrong I could lose my coins. I also don't know how safe it is being one of the first few people to try out staking. Right now I have my eth safely stored, however if I were to stake it on an exchange then I run the additional risk of the exchange getting hacked while I have it staked.

Is it possible for staking to be available directly as a feature from our wallets in the future? For the paranoid people like me lol. Thats basically what I'm waiting for.

Can you help understand this? Using Trust Wallet. Changed the Gwei to an average quantity supposedly around $0.60 but when I confirm transaction the value is ridiculously different. What gives?

    Exchanging to ETH first time.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 08:59 AM PST

    Hi all!

Hope that this is the right format to ask noob questions. I was trying to exchange USDC for some ETH for the first time on my Jaxx Liberty However I got a message saying: insufficient ETH balance for token transfer.

Does this mean I cannot exchange to ETH until I have some ETH to pay for gas?

I thought I might share this with all ETH developers that are looking to do a crowdsale in the future using a decentralized way that also saves you time in automatically locking and providing liquidity to Uniswap.

This is the only project that i've seen capable of doing that - they are currently looking for beta testers to help find any bugs for the platform. The platform will be get migrated to mainnet in a day or so.

Visit their site for more info!
