ETH DAG size issue on 8GB cards already?? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 05:52 PM PST I know this is a concern for 4GB cards but I have RX480 8GB rigs which all just halted because of this issue in Claymore 15: GPU1 - not enough GPU memory to place DAG, you cannot mine this coin with this GPUGPU1 - OpenCL error -61 - cannot allocate big buffer for DAG. Check readme.txt for possible solutions. Why does it think I only have 4GB? Output says that all cards have 8GB available: GPU #0: Ellesmere (AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics), 8170 MB available, 36 compute units (pci bus 1:0:0) GPU #0 recognized as Radeon RX 480/580 GPU #1: Ellesmere (AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics), 8178 MB available, 36 compute units (pci bus 2:0:0) GPU #1 recognized as Radeon RX 480/580 GPU #2: Ellesmere (AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics), 8178 MB available, 36 compute units (pci bus 5:0:0) GPU #2 recognized as Radeon RX 480/580 GPU #3: Ellesmere (AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics), 8178 MB available, 36 compute units (pci bus 6:0:0) GPU #3 recognized as Radeon RX 480/580 GPU #4: Ellesmere (AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics), 8178 MB available, 36 compute units (pci bus 7:0:0) GPU #4 recognized as Radeon RX 480/580 GPU #5: Ellesmere (AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics), 8178 MB available, 36 compute units (pci bus 8:0:0) GPU #5 recognized as Radeon RX 480/580 [UPDATE] Problem solved by switching to PhoenixMiner [link] [comments] |

Etherum classic - Phoenix Miner old cards Posted: 01 Dec 2020 06:31 PM PST I tried setting up Phoenix Miner for mining Etherum Classic on a machine yesterday, Windows 10. Just for shits and giggles I have an HD 7990 that I tried mining with. I tried benchmark mode with Phoenix Miner and it was getting 26MH/s per card with some overclocking! I was like hell yeah!!! But when I went to actually mine from a pool, I got this error: 2020.11.30:21:10:58.679: eths Eth: New job #a4b03038 from us1-etc.ethermine.org:4444; diff: 4000MH 2020.11.30:21:10:58.681: GPU1 GPU1: Starting up... Should I get the RX 560O XT or GTX 1660? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 05:11 PM PST They are both priced around the same on Amazon. The 5600 seems to hash better on Eth but not as well as the 1660 on other algos. I am concerned that the 5600 may not be as competitive with other algos once Eth goes fully POS. Also I don't want the hassle of having to mod the card. What are your thoughts? I'm leaning towards the AMD card. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2020 03:24 PM PST Currently mining with 6 rx 570s on hiveon pool using phoenix miner on hiveos. When I start the rig up, I get 100% accepted shares for the first couple of hours, but after that I get about 1/3 rejected shares off one gpu. I don't know why this is happening, and all my cards are at stock speeds. Also, does anybody know if you can see memory temps for your cards from the hiveos web dashboard? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2020 04:51 PM PST Hey gang! You may remember me from posts such as "My fans are backward" and "why you no mine btc..." So I bought 3 GPUs, 3 Motherboards, and 2 CPUs and started swapping parts and nothing was working!!! It would still just turn on for a sec and shut off. I built it on the carpet and decided to finally being a table down to work on. Turn the thing on and it WORKS????? All components fully operational. Any ideas why that happened? I wanna put it back on the carpet to test if it stops working but Im scared. (Lol) What say you brothas? (Ladies too) [link] [comments] |
Best CPU for an 1151 (series 300) MB? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 10:30 AM PST Just curious what everyone thought. My goal is to get one with the lowest price and the lowest power draw. Of course, it has to be one I can actually get. :) Also, as a side thought, anyone ever try undervolting these to save on power? [link] [comments] |
