    What do you think about unstopable domains?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:18 PM PST

    The ones ending in .crypto and .zil

    Seems you need special browser or chrome extension to even access those sites. And the site selling them holds quite a premium for all single words one (where does those money go?)

    The good thing is they are well unstopable, blockchain based.

    However, do you see this catching up and why?

    Do you see it fading and why?

    Do they have competition and which?

    Geth Node causes local internet problems

    Hi guys,

    i want to host my own ETH I node to connect my ETH II node without a 3nd party provider. Node is syncing everything works fine but there are this fucking internet lagg´s so when my eth1 node is running for 1 min i am unable to play games because the lag >500ms

    Hardware:

    PC: ODROID-H2+ -

    • Intel Quad-core processor J4115 (14nm) with 4MiB Cache, up to 2.5Ghz(Single Thread) or 2.3Ghz(Multi Thread)

    RAM: 32GB

    DISK: 500 GB m.2

    I think hardware should do the job easy, maybe disk space is to low, but this is easy to solve!

    Connection:

    Cable Router 120Mbit´s over DOCSIS 3.0. I have used my ISP router as a bridge and as a router, nothing seems to solve my problem.

    Commands:

    ExecStart=geth --http --datadir /var/lib/goethereum

    ExecStart=/bin/bash -c '/usr/local/bin/prysm.sh beacon-chain --p2p-host-ip=${ClientIP} --http-web3provider=INFURA ENRTY POINT --datadir=/var/lib/prysm/beaconchain --accept-terms-of-use'

    I tried:

    changing router;

    port forwarding 30303 for geth and prysm;

    use my ISP router as modem (bridge modus) and in back another router (fritzbox calbe 6490)

    disable geth --nodiscover and add nodes manually

    Geth log

    Geth attach output

    Nothing seem so solve my problem :/ Did i something wrong? If ETH I and beacon chain is not connected the lags are always there. If i shutdown the ETH 1 node (geth service) this ping get´s stable by 10-30ms. I dont know how to get MORE/BETTER information or find out what my problem causes. HELP PLEASE!

    What’s New in Eth2 - 12 December 2020

    Just bought 1 ETH coin on Coinbase as an investment. Should I keep it or will it probably go down?

    Who owns private key of the ETH 2.0 deposit contract account?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 02:03 PM PST

    Here is the known address:

    https://etherscan.io/address/0x00000000219ab540356cbb839cbe05303d7705fa

    I'm pretty sure it's not possible to unlock the properly staked Ether.

    But this address currently has $430 000 000 of tokens and possibly some Ether transferred directly to the address by a mistake.

    While I'm not ETH developer, according to my research, you need to unlock an account to publish a smart contract (so you need to know seed/private key).

    This address starts with zeros: most likely it was generated by a paper wallet generator that uses brute force to achieve this.

    So looks like the deposit contract is not a kind of burn address with an unknown private key like https://etherscan.io/address/0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000
