Posted: 30 Nov 2020 07:31 PM PST I think Andreas knows he f!"·% up. As time goes BTC will probably keep changing and Andreas' first book will distance itself from Bitcoin Core. Maybe a new version of Mastering Bitcoin will come with "updates". The new title for the book could be "Mastering Bitcoin, Locking digital cryptocurrencies so it works for the bankers" [link] [comments]
I’m building a decentralized bank on top of BCH. Posted: 30 Nov 2020 01:24 PM PST I'm building www.getswype.io Which is essentially a decentralized bank account where you can hold your own crypto, yet spend it as cash through a debit card. I'm currently implementing this for BCH, and following it up with ETH. I think every company in the space is wrong. Including coinbase. If you ever see a homeless dude in SF holding up a QR code to send him BCH he can use as fiat, you'll know it's working! Just wanted to share! I'd love to talk more about it as I hit milestones :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Dec 2020 01:51 AM PST I asked in a previous post if there is wiki dedicated to Bitcoin Cash and I received a lot of useful answers. Thanks guys for all those useful info. This wiki should be like Wikipedia where everyone can add a new page in it. A central hub for knowledge and info. -For a new comer, it's very overwhelming to find all those information and it's really hard to realize the size of the bitcoin cash community, I would say almost impossible except if as I did, you ask questions. -It will be a good way to high light important people of the community. It is not normal that we cannot easily see the name of people behind each work done related to Bitcoin Cash. This apply as well to projects and discussions that took place in the past. -Currently if we want a full overview of BCH, we need to check the link above this subreddit to get some info, then you have to check some read.cash articles where you find more useful info, then you have to chat with a bunch of people to get some other interesting links, then you go on bitcoin.com to find other project and info referenced, then finally you might have a kind of overview. Each of those entities maintain their own incomplete list of info and that's a shame. Maybe I miss something but am I the only one wishing this? Or maybe the centralized wiki where everyone shares and add info is an utopia in a decentralized context? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:28 PM PST The only way out now is for ABC to have more then 100% of the total hash rate. Idea: If the attacker does not orphan the blocks that give 100% to IFP address (as he said he wouldnt) then ABC could create blocks as a mining pool, the mining pool can payout from the IFP address to individual miners on the pool. Basically, official ABC-pool and according to the attacker's own rules these blocks would not get orphaned [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:45 PM PST Hey guys, It is honestly not my style to do these type of once or twice (this time), but as it is urgent I'll help as much as I can, since this is a guy I worked with and he is talented, and hardforker: A friend Brandon, who previously received a 4k donation for his mom operation from some BCH community members needs help again. I talked about this before on my original donation post, but I suggest reading his article for full explanation: https://read.cash/@brandonjhz/thank-you-to-the-bitcoin-cash-community-abe1aec8 For a shorter explanation: Thanks to the donations received by some members of the community, his mom was able to get the surgery needed, but in the process doctors discovered that her heart dissease was worse than expected. So he needs an open heart surgery, which means it is more expensive. Brandon decided not to ask for full amount, but instead the part of the money he needs to get the intial payment covered, as he will be able to pay the rest in monthly basis. Believe me, If he is doing this, is because he CAN'T afford it. And If I am sharing it, it is because its urgent and because this is a guy I trust. I know this is a problem don't need to deal with, as it isn't mine as well. But when I put myself in his position, imagining my mom in the same conditions, I just can't ignore it. I already donated him myself $500 in a personal talk we had. I am here spreading (and believe me, I don't really like to do these type of posts and they could be depressing), but as this is an urgent thing, I am making again a support post for you to see. Here is a flipstarter made by emergent reasons (widely known by the BCH community), where you can donate: https://flipstarter.brandonjhz.com/ I want to make clear that any of the money previously received and the money that might be received in this flipstarter won't go to any of the people spreading it, it will be totally given to Brandon's mom surgery. THANKS a lot for your support and understanding. You are helping someone in need. [link] [comments]

Buy video games with Bitcoin Cash Posted: 01 Dec 2020 02:27 AM PST I am trying to find a video game key store that accepts Bitcoin cash, I took a look at https://acceptbitcoin.cash/#gaming, but found out most are out of business, or stopped accepting Bitcoin Cash. Kinguin (popular key store) claim they accept Bitcoin Cash but in fact they do not, there's no option at checkout and after contacting their support they said they have "temporarily" removed the option. Keys4coins is also another store that accepts Bitcoin Cash, but games there are overpriced relative to other video game key sites. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:43 PM PST I'd do it but I'm far from an expert on Bitcoin Cash. I'm a nobody redditor. I just think making the case for Bitcoin Cash to the world on /r/changemyview would be interesting in that discourse on that sub has a protocol to follow. Counterproductive FUD comments would largely not be tolerated. Anyway, I'm just enjoying the idea of BTC supporters trying to defend the 1MB block size, and a ~5-7 TPS limit to that audience. (Calling "bitcoin cash the one true bitcoin" is moot anyway. It's probably best we don't claim that. It makes far more sense imo to defend that it's simply superior to BTC as a usable currency.) edit: /r/changemyview has nothing to do with cryptocurrency, it's a debate sub. Coreons don't really reside there, though I imagine you'd get a lot of crossposts to BTC subs. [link] [comments]
Is LocalCryptos 'under new management'? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 02:34 AM PST Localcryptos is a site which uses the same software platform as local bitcoin.com, but allows you to trade BTC, DASH, ETH, and LTC. I've used the site occasionally and never had a problem until recently. As with bitcoin.com, once you completed a trade the chat log was deleted after 30 days. However, starting a few months ago this is no longer the case, and they now keep it indefinitely. That was kind of suspicious, but then something even more strange happened. I opened a trade with a user that I had not traded with before. The user was offline and did not respond. However, a few minutes later, the trade was cancelled and my account was banned without explanation. I can only guess that localcryptos is running some kind of 'sting' operation where you get banned if you respond to certain offers. Moreover the chat thing is very suspicious and I think at this point the code needs to be audited by a third party to make sure it is not leaking encryption keys. If you choose to use localcryptos, please be cautious. If the site hasn't been, compromised, their 'new management' needs to explain their data retention policies and why they suddenly started banning accounts with 100% positive feedback and no open disputes. HathorMM mining empty blocks on BCH Posted: 30 Nov 2020 01:28 PM PST There are quite a few empty blocks mined by Hathor Merge Mining pool today, so I am just wondering what is the reasoning behind it.
