BTC vs BCH. What was the argument against increasing the block size?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 09:13 PM PST

As i read and try to understand the history of BCH and BTC, the only thing clear to me is that there is much more to the situation than I can discover. Increasing the block size was a potential solution to the scalability problem. But what was the argument against this? Why was much of the community so averse to changing the code in this way?

Flowee releases a new update of its products with txVulcano on scalenet support. PPA support for testnet4

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 10:28 AM PST

Flowee today released an update of various of its flagship products, now available on PPA, AUR and as sources. The releases can be found via https://flowee.org/products

    Major changes:

    • TxVulcano: to generate massive amounts of test-transactions, has seen an upgrade to no longer make it limited on just regtest (private network) but now it also works on scalenet. Tests show it can fill up a 50MB block in about 30-45 seconds.

    • The Ubuntu PPA has received a new package "flowee-testnet4" which can be installed next to an existing installation to get testnet4 nodes up and running. For this item more documentation is coming but some gotchas that need to be mentioned. Ubuntu for some reason I can't fathom auto-enables systemd service files and starts them on install. Which means you likely want to disable/stop some of the services as you'd get both the mainnet and testnet running on that machine.

    • Fulcrum just released an update.
Performance - The mempool handling code has been heavily redone to cope with large / full mempools in a much more performant manner.

We hope you have fun with this release!

Please check https://flowee.org for more details.

At xmrTo.cash I am building a clone of xmr.to but just for Bitcoin Cash!

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 08:46 AM PST

I own the site, https://xmrTo.cash and am building a clone of the site https://xmr.to and would love any thoughts, feedback or help and have funding to get started!

(Of course) I have done my due diligence to keep this project as anonymous as possible and I have the basic site done but am looking for advice/help in building the following functionality and have about $2,000 to fund "phase one":

    1. Generate a deposit address for: XMR/BCH.
    2. Monitor and accept payment of the above.
    3. Calculate the equivalent of the deposit in XMR/BCH.
    4. Send XMR/BCH.

Can anyone help improve on this basic outline of what I understand I need to do:

    On my web server install:

    Write PHP code to:

    • Generate the addresses using the API of Electrum Cash/Monerophp.
    • Get price data from site like CoinMarketCap API.
    • Send transactions using the API of Electrum Cash/Monerophp.

Alternatively, I would be happy to do this all using an API from something like https://changelly.com/developers or any method you guys think might work best.

Thank you so much to u/ErdoganTalk, u/JonathanSilverblood, u/jonald_fyookball, u/stacksof_cash and all others for your help so far!

11 days left of our flipstarter

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 09:04 AM PST

We are fundraising to improve our platform at fundme.cash. We are adding revenue by ads. It's free to use the platform and users can pay to advertise their campaign on the front page via a bidding system.

Here is a flowchart of how the bidding system will work with our platform. A simulation demonstration can be seen @ https://fundmebidding.vercel.app of the bidding.

We created FMT(FundMeToken) that will be distributed to flipstarter donors. 100% of the site's ad revenue will be airdropped to FMT holders on a monthly basis. We will add a BCH-for-FMT swap on our home page for those who miss out on the flipstarter. 100% of the BCH we get on our swap page will also be airdropped to FMT holders.

We've had quite a few reputable people donate to our campaign. 13.595 BCH left until we hit our goal.
