Posted: 18 Nov 2020 07:19 AM PST I was sent an invitation email marketing the new PayPal crypto as an easy way to invest. Everything was fine for the first dozen or so small transactions but when I attempted to sell at a profit the transaction was flagged and the money is being held at their discretion. I know there's better ways, but I figured I would give it a shot and I'm hoping my hours of hassle save you all some time. The gist is non profitable sales are fine with PayPal but turning a profit is "suspicious activity". I've yet to find out if the sale will be paid at the rate from the time of sale or will miraculously be released at a lower rate when the market dips but the wording of the representative made me assume the latter [link] [comments]

PSA: Do NOT buy LTCN, ETHE, or GBTC. Posted: 18 Nov 2020 10:26 AM PST I had a friend that wasn't into crypto much, recently ask me if he should buy some litecoin through the index LTCN. This index is available on most brokers. The problem with this is that these shares represent 0.10 of a litecoin, in ADDITION to the fact that there is a 2.5% annual holding fee. Information found here: https://grayscale.co/litecoin-trust/ If you look at the current market price of this trust with this information, you will see it is vastly overvalued. 0.10 litecoin on an exchange such as coinbase currently costs about $7.30 at time of writing. However, LTCN is valued at $245! So this fund is currently overvalued by a multiple of 35x... You can see a similar but reverse situation with ETHE, the ethereum index also by grayscale. It is currrently at $69.50, while it was trading at $107 exactly 6 months ago. If you look at the market price of ethereum on an exchange like coinbase 6 months ago, it'd be about $206, with ethereum today being at $476. In other words, ETHE is down 35% on a 6 month time frame, while direct real ethereum is up 130%. GBTC isn't quite as bad but the movements are not 1-1. TLDR: If you want to buy litecoin, ethereum, or bitcoin, open an exchange account and avoid grayscale's trusts at all costs. They currently do not even remotely accurately track the price of any of the assets that they claim to. [link] [comments]

Should I have a wallet or is the Coinbase app fine? Any pros and cons? Posted: 17 Nov 2020 02:49 PM PST If this is the wrong section to ask then feel free to move it. I'm relatively new to the whole Crypto thing and started with the Coinbase app, specifically Litecoin ofc. I was wondering if I should get the "Lite wallet" for my coins recently. Any benefits to this? [link] [comments]
