Posted: 24 Nov 2020 11:18 AM PST Question guys: with Ethereum 2.0, if I'm staking on my own node, hosted at home, how forgiving is the slashing algorithm in the event that I might have an outage for 30 minutes or so, a few times a year through power cuts etc? Does anyone know if this would be enough for me to have my stake slashed, and if so, do you know how the amount of slash is calculated? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:22 AM PST ETH 2.0 needed 16,384 validators to stake a combined 524,288 ETH. After sitting at about 50% of the target, the network suddenly surpassed it in 24 hours! The upgrade will help Ethereum to scale up and speedily handle more transactions at a time (This snippet is taken from the CoinGecko daily newsletter) https://decrypt.co/49315/ethereum-2-0-has-enough-staked-eth-to-launch [link] [comments]

Will staking ever be as easy as mining? Posted: 24 Nov 2020 06:24 PM PST Basically, i was mining ethereum part time from late 2016 to late 2018. By part time i mean i would mine when i wasnt using the computer, sometimes i would turn it off at night and sometimes i would go a week without mining. It was all very casual. But at the end of the day, i knew i could boot up my pc and start mining in less than 5 min without having to worry about slashing or committing my eth for 2 years. Will staking ever be this simple to the point i can stake on demand and exit staking on demand? [link] [comments]
