    New wave

I've adopted the buy and hold strategy for the past few years with Btc and eth. I've been recently seeing and reading about defi and staking, I have no idea what this is and how to do that, does the buy and hold strategy still exist in crypto. Or do I now have to Start staking. If so can someone point me to the direction on how to do that.

Transaction out of gas and address/wallet very low on ETH. What to do?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 02:27 PM PST

    Hi folks,

So I tried transferring some ERC-20 tokens (ZRX) from an address that had very little ETH on it, and I must have messed up the gas limit+price ( 31'000 limit with 29 gwei) because my transaction ran out of gas and now that address doesn't have enough ETH to do anything. ( 0.00002031 ETH left)

What is my best course of action here?

Could I mine enough for this one transaction in a day? I do have an RTX 3080 I can put to work.

Should I just buy ETH on an exchange and send it over? Seems like it would cost too much in exchange/withdrawal fees for just sending a tiny bit of ETH for gas..

    "Ethereum" in domain name

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 09:41 AM PST

    Hey,

Is it legal to use ethereum in a domain name? Am I allowed to use ethereumkitties.com for example?

In the ethereum.org tos it states: Trademarks

The Foundation name, the terms Ethereum Switzerland, Ethereum Asia, the Foundation logo and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs and slogans are trademarks of the Foundation or its affiliates or licensors.

I don't see the term "ethereum" itself mentioned. If it is protected then why mention "Ethereum Switzerland" and "Ethereum Asia" at all?

    Updated Guide for Ubuntu/Pyrmont/Teku

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 11:56 AM PST

I have updated my end-to-end guide for staking on Ubuntu & Teku to support the Pyrmont testnet. Still working on the final client - Nimbus. No changes required for existing users who are already setup against Pyrmont. Changes include dropping ntpd (in favor of the launchpad default timedatectl), an updated deposit-cli section, updated key/pass section, permissions, updated grafana dashboard, and of course Pyrmont support throughout.

NOTE: This is an interim step towards mainnet. Planning a bigger overhaul to the guide for that.

Where can I find the best, concise, but comprehensive documentation on how the new Proof of Stake works?

    Posted: 21 Nov 2020 08:59 PM PST

I would like to know where the best resource is for this, explaining in relatively simple terms, so I can have a mental grasp of it all?

For context, I already very clearly understand how Bitcoin and PoW works, but not PoS.
