I created an app that helps you practice trading

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 09:44 AM PST

I created an app that helps you practice trading

I was looking for an app that helps you practice trading, something like replay historical candles and trade on them at a point in time, kind of like a trading simulator.

But I couldn't find anything that suited my needs.

I asked trading community for existing solutions, and there were some suggestions:

    • Most of them were some form of paper-trading, which is not at all what I was looking for, because it has a very slow feedback loop (make a trade, wait for hours/days).
    • Most notable was TD Ameritrade On-Demand feature, and then some smaller apps, but I wanted something that's super easy/quick to start with and use.

I wanted something that combines all the things that I'm looking for:

    • Quick start in seconds - no download, install, registration, etc.
    • Easy to use UI/UX.
    • Minimal bias - accomplished by picking random asset/time and hiding them.
    • Make trades and fast forward time for a super quick feedback/learning loop.

So I created it - TradingGYM. It's an early version, but I wanted to get the MVP out ASAP and see if this is useful to other traders as well.

The Mobile version has a more lightweight UI, but in Desktop you can change some settings like candle size and commission.

Tech stack for the Devs: Node/React (in TypeScript). Postgres DB. Hosted w/ Vercel (previously Zeit/Now). ECharts for charting.

Any suggestions are very much welcome. Super interested to see if this helps anyone improve their performance.

dumb question, but what exchanges are there that have stop losses, which are well established and don't charge a % fee for stop loss orders?

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 04:57 PM PST

It looks like coinbase pro has stop loss orders, but it also looks like they charge a % fee for maker or taker orders, which I believe is what a stop loss would be categorized as. I know of binance, but seeing as they've been hacked once, as an investor, I don't feel very confident, and ultimately, confidence is what I'm looking for with stop losses (not tight ones).

Side note question, are there any exchanges that don't have limitations on currencies traded that do have stop losses? For example, is there a bare minimum wallet that enables stop losses and has a decent web UI?

I just got laughed out of r/ bitcoin for posting this, because it seems like an insane question to them, but nobody provided any context for why its insane, so if anyone can help a noob out, I'd greatly appreciate the help!

    Radix: To those considering investing

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 09:29 PM PST

Do your research guys. For the love of god, do your research. eXRD is the ticker. Listing Nov 17th.

There are a wealth of documents and videos out there, including whitepapers created by the team from 7 years ago when they started developing. There's also a "Radix Unicorn paper" out there that's very informative and gives some behind the scenes info that's mission critical. This has been in the making for 7 years and there's ample evidence for it. Official site is www.radixdlt.com.

There's a lot of shilling going on, but I don't really see it as shilling. It's more excitement. I totally get how these people feel. We see so many multi-billion cap moon missions and it just feels so good to finally be on the right side for once. It makes you want to shout about it.

I can't get my head around those claiming it's a pump and dump. It doesn't need pumping. I've made a sizable investment within about a day of learning about the project (I, like many, didn't hear about it until late in the token sale).

Why did I invest? Two reasons:

    1. It does everything Avalanche, Polkadot, Cosmos, Near and yes ETH2 claim to do, and a whole lot more. It is an evolution. Post-blockchain. Post-standard sharding. Unlike blockchain it doesn't become less efficient as the system grows. It gets even stronger and faster. People want a decentralised, highly scalable internet 2.0. This is it. A paradigm shift in literally every way. It actually pains the hell out of me that I even need to explain this like some people don't realise, but it is what it is.
    2. Radix is coming, and the documents out there are PACKED with evidence of it. Some claim vaporware, but a 10 minute search shows that the Githubs are active and they are preparing for launch in Q1 2021. 7 years in the making and we're only now getting the chance to invest when it's ready to go in a few months.

There's a simple reason why there's massive potential. Those other projects I mentioned, their market caps are in the billions. This one starts with a 2M market cap. You do the math. Multiple projects are FAR less developed and FAR less technically advanced (i.e. the usual blockchain and sharding stuff) but riding with market caps in the billions. People say it's like getting in ETH, Polkadot, Cosmos, Cosmo when they still had comparatively small market caps. It's better than that. And while some try to spread fud about Radix just like they spread FUD about those projects in their infancy, there were many who held on and x10 to x100 their money.

And yes, the EXACT same FUD happened with all of those projects in the top 10 when they started out. I remember very vividly when people were claiming Ethereum was a scam when it was $1 (honestly there aren't any smart Radix fudsters out there because all the smart people are going to long the shit out of Radix).

For the stakers out there, Radix is listing on Uniswap on Nov 17th. They are giving out 200m eXRD as incentives, that's 8M USD at launch price, when Radix 5-10 shortly after launch you can do the math how much that will be worth.

Tokenomics are extremely good. it starts with a 1% circulating supply. Everybody from seed to token salers are vested. They only unlock when price reaches certain prices. Check https://www.radixdlt.com/post/the-radix-economics-a-token-for-an-ecosystem/ for more

People will claim this is an elaborate shill. All I ask is that you don't take my word for it. A few hours of good quality research is worth it, trust me. Do not get sucked in by the nonsense because it's done by very spiteful people who seem to take pleasure out of stopping others succeeding.

I will leave you all with this: Radix is the evolution of blockchain. It is a step beyond, something completely unique, 7 years in the making and just about ready. Filter out the noise, do your research and draw your own conclusions. It's all out there.
