How Bitcoin Cash will compete vs actual credit card payment circuit: scalability relief.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:58 PM PST

Most of people are worried about that increasing the block size would be a bad solution to Bitcoin Cash scalability, but it's false. Here is how Bitcoin Cash will scale remaining cheap and fast.

    ---

Actual Bitcoin Cash max tx/s (based on average tx size, 32MB blocks): 116
    (https://coinanalysis.io/how-many-transactions-per-second-bitcoin-cash/)

Actual Credit Cards tx/s processed: 5,000
    (https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-bitcoin-wont-displace-visa-or-mastercard-soon-2017-12-15#:~:text=Credit%20cards%20can%20settle%205%2C000%20transactions%20per%20second.)

    ---

It means that Bitcoin Cash block should be like 50 times bigger in order to be as same level as Credit Cards. But let's look further, and make it 100 times bigger in order to tryhard.

    It means 32MB x 100 = 3200MB = 3,2GB

    At 3,2GB block, the blockchain will increase its size of 3,2 GB x 6 x 24 x 365 = 170 TB every year.

In 10 years we can expect the first affordable PetaByte SSD, that will last about 6 years each in order to store data of the blockchain at max tx/s.

Meanwhile (from nowadays), the block while increase its size when it get the max capacity. Also, don't forget most of the nodes (except miners and some companies) will probably run a pruned version.

Now... How can you be pessimist about Bitcoin Cash scalability?

Stupidly sent BCH to BTC. Is there any hope?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 01:39 AM PST

I made the very, very (very!) stupid mistake of sending BCH to my BTC address. To make matters worse, my BTC wallet is on Coinbase, so I guess I don't have any way of obtaining the private key.

My BTC wallet address starts with a 3, so it probably is a SegWit address from what I read. Although I have to admit I don't fully grasp the concept and its implications.

I contacted Coinbase immediately after having noticed my mistake, but haven't heard back from them, yet. The transaction has around 50 confirmations as of now.

I am aware this is completely on me, but of course I would still like to know if there is any chance of me getting a hold of the funds. I saw this post "How to get your recovered SegWit funds using Electron Cash" but if I understand it correctly, this would be something only Coinbase could do for me due to only them having the private key.

I also read that if I found a miner, he could somehow recover the funds, but I'm not sure how and if that works or even how to get in contact with someone who would be willing to do so.

    Thanks for listening!

we have proof that ABC is the enemy of BCH: they are splitting BCH on purpose - by pushing the IFP unnecessarily before tools to govern it exist.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:59 AM PST

does not matter if you like IFP or not, ABC is the enemy. They are splitting BCH on purpose because ABC wants more power, not because BCH needs IFP. They have an easy way to prove otherwise - postpone IFP until after the Council is operational and gives them a mandate to do it.

The revelation of the real Bitcoin - I'd call it. After 3 years of constant decline under ABC reign the independence movement will bring the real Bitcoin to the forefront of the crypto movement again. All the hate that got absorbed over the years will set free a lot of energy. Watch Phoenix rise from the ashes.
