A fee market is emerging in ABC Coin

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 10:45 PM PST

I'm trying to get some BCHA to coinex, but the blocks are rare and that BCHA miner seems to use a 4 MB soft cap. The last 2 block were 4 MB big. My transactions didn't get into the next block (!!), so I made new ones with a higher fee.

Ergo: a fee market has emerged in BCHA.

    Newbie help with bitcoin.com wallet

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 10:43 PM PST

    hey guys,

I am finding the bitcoin.com wallet confusing, and I hope someone can help me a little. I run an online business and decided to start taking payment by bitcoin (customers asked for both BTC and BCH) a few years ago. We only get a customer a month (at most) who want to pay by Bitcoin, so it's not a big deal.

I set up a Bitcoin wallet, added the BTC and BCH accounts. People paid us with no problems for a few years.

Recently, the bitcoin.com wallet seemed to "lose" the data for my wallets - when I opened the app, balance for BTC and BCH was 0. No problem, I just reassociate my accounts with my wallet software and it's all good ("Import wallet", enter the 12-word pass phrase).

Except that when I go to do this, only my BCH wallet appears - the BTC wallet does not. And the BCH wallet has a single balance from Jan 2019, and no more-recent transactions (of which there should be 10 or so).

I'm pretty thorough keeping records of passwords in a password manager, and I don't have a record for a different phrase for BTC and BCH (and I am not sure if that's expected?).

What am I missing out on here?

    Future op_codes for bch?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 01:27 AM PST

Now that fork drama can die we can talk about the path forward. Others have talked about changing the hard fork frequency and so it would seem a hard push towards utility for the next update is necessary.

In an earlier thread a poster talked about implementing dns like functionality for bch. To do this it would require adding 3 op_codes.

Another interesting proposal for btc (that hasn't gained traction) is drivechain https://www.drivechain.info requires 2 op codes

Can we talk about other op codes? Are there op codes that would make stuff easier for things like anyhedge ?

Great P2p cash alone isn't good enough we need to be that and more if we want to gain a critical mass of users

Bitpay demanding KYC, I will never use this company again

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 05:10 PM PST

A merchant I shop with uses Bitpay to receive crypto payments. I've already had plenty of problems with BIP70 payments, my wallet wasn't supported, the payment didn't go through, their API server was down, etc. But now Bitpay is redirecting me to "Onfido" who is demanding my personal information. There is no way in hell I'm, uploading scans of my passport to some shady fly-by-night 3rd party site!

    I'm out.

Due to people asking: Leaked court documentation that says that "if Tether pumping stops, BTC could drop below $1000". ULTIMATE PROOF.

The www.electroncash.org website says all users must upgrade to at least 4.1.1 before November 15th.. I didn't see this message till today and now am sitting with v4.0.11. Any advice?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 01:36 AM PST

I'm sitting here with v4.0.11 on my laptop and see I should have upgraded to at least 4.1.11 by November 15th. I just didn't see that message, sorry all

But now I'm sitting here in that position, is there any advice or insight as to what to do from here? What happens now I've not upgraded? How do I upgrade? Ta.

BCH Should Be Re-enabled Everywhere Shortly

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 11:10 AM PST

Many exchanges and most wallets halted BCH transactions during the split which coincided with the network upgrade. Now that the split is over we should make an effort to get it everywhere resumed ASAP!

Please be careful of BCHN impersonating scams and coin split scams.

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 07:44 AM PST

We have noticed several scam attempts at impersonating the BCHN team. Please note that all of our official communication channels can be found on https://bitcoincashnode.org, and be very careful about interacting with anyone who claim to be us but not listed there.

Remember, never give out your private keys or seed words to anyone or any website online, and reject all unsolicited approaches asking you to send coins. If in doubt, contact us through Slack or Telegram links at our official page.

    Stay safe.

If I may add some more advice:

    1. always transact small (tiny) amounts first on any site or with new software

    2. if in doubt about some site/service, ask around about legitimacy or experience from others first

    3. when running software you download from somewhere (even from BCHN official channels) -- verify the checksums or better still, the signatures. And raise your voice if something doesn't match.

    4. if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Why I invested 80 percent of my life savings into Bitcoin Cash last night

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 07:04 AM PST

I've been around the crypto block for a few years now. The thrill of the 16' hype cycle drew me into the space like many many others. I got lucky in some areas and terribly burned in others. I've always kept a watchful eye on Bitcoin Cash because it has the tendency to spring to life seemingly without warning. I tuned into this subreddit almost daily for the past six months and decided last night was the best time to get in. I have seen many projects promising so much utility yet fail and never recover...and they experienced a fraction of the drama that BCH has. The success of the recent fork gave me the confidence that this project is the best long-term future for me and blockchain. Cheers!

    Where’s Binance?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 01:50 AM PST

Binance had over 40% of BCH hashrate just before the upgrade. Hashrate since upgrade: 0%. Not one single block mined by Binance.

Everybody was rooting for Binance before, but nobody is talking about the fact that they aren't mining BCH.

What happened? Anybody got any ideas? Is this ok with you guys? Nobody see a problem with this?
