Claymore's Ethereum Miner Stops Working. Best Alternatives

The popular Claymore's miner will stop mining Ethereum Classic and Ethereum soon. We tested popular alternatives for the Ethash algorithm. 2Miners launched the test pool and experimented with the AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.

Anyone know how i can make a hidden ethereum miner visible?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2020 08:14 AM PDT

I've been mining ethereum for razer and getting razer silver points for a while now. I can see on task manager that it uses ethminer.exe to mine. SOmetimes it stops mining and idk why. I wanna make it visible so I can see if there are any errors i can fix. Anyone know how i can make that miner visible? I'm on windows 10 btw.

Sorry if that's a stupid question

    Multi-Algo Mining

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 10:33 AM PDT

What are your thoughts on multi-algo mining? We just released an update of our coin that removes x16rt mining and replaces it with a system splits the mining into Sha256d, ProgPow and RandomX. The difficulty adjustments are designed to leave 50% of the blocks for Proof of Stake, and 50% of the blocks for Proof of Work; targeting 70% ProgPow for the GPU crowd, 20% RandomX for the CPU miners, and leaving the remaining 10% for the asic miners on Sha256d.

Just interested in hearing thoughts of this sort of system by those focused on mining [since as a core developer, I don't have a focused view on just the mining community.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Recommended 8 Gpu Rig

In looking to build an 8 gpu rig, I was thinking of the 5700xt, my electric rate is .05. What would be the best configuration for a build like this (motherboard, cpu, ram, etc.) My budget is >3500 USD.

Ive got all hardware, what software do I need?

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 12:57 PM PDT

Okay so I went ahead and got 8x rx5700 and will be receiving my ordered wares the coming week. I'm not really up to date on how I set up the OS/ software side of things. I've heard about HiveOs and seen that many use Windows. Can I use only HiveOs and no Windows or do I need Windows first anyway?

Any advice on software very appreciated! Thanks
