I am going back to ethereum and ethereum smart contract development, what are the main new additions Posted: 25 Oct 2020 09:17 AM PDT Hey. I stopped following eth when solidity was on version 0.4.5 and the move to POS was being researched. What is the news you think I should know about? [link] [comments]

Trading while traveling for work (hotels) Posted: 25 Oct 2020 05:52 PM PDT Hey there. Pretty new here. Bought some BTC/ETH and I would like to do most of my trading while I'm in the hotels during work. I understand there can be some inherent risks to public WiFis, even if I need a password for it. What would be the best way to remedy these risks? What VPN would you suggest? Should I just run it off my phones hotspot when I'm trading? VPN for that as well? Lots of little questions. Would be nice to hear from anyone else who trades while on business. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Deposit contract - general question. Posted: 25 Oct 2020 01:29 AM PDT Hey so, I am excited about the deposit contract! Do I need my own hardware for this? I want to stake with my own hardware but am waiting for the intel NUC. As I can read maybe I don't need my own hardware for the deposit contract. Also what software should I use? I don't want to use the same software all use like prysm... To avoid single point of failure. I am a minimalist, if that helps to recommend one, but also it should be secure of course. Thanks! Raising money for charitible donations using NFTs Posted: 24 Oct 2020 02:15 PM PDT A very specific question. I'm in the UK, I want to raise money for my lab using an NFT of a peice of work we made (I think its pretty). If I was to raise a substantial amount of money...say £20,000, can I donate crypto (ETH) as a charitable donation to offset the tax? Or do I have to still pay tax, and the lab claim it back later? Also does anyone else find that trading is straight forward - its the Tax part that is really confuses haha https://opensea.io/assets/0x60f80121c31a0d46b5279700f9df786054aa5ee5/49847 [link] [comments]
Number of Known States for an Ethereum node Posted: 24 Oct 2020 10:05 AM PDT Hello there, I am running a fast-sync and it has been going for a while... The blocks are synced, but now it is pulling states. Anyone know what the actual number is for known states that has to be reached? I am currently around 5720000000, and wonder how much more I will have to have to wait for the sync to be finalized :) Any website where this information can be found, or anyone who just finished syncing a node that can give me an approximate answer?! :) [link] [comments] |
