Posted: 14 Sep 2020 06:48 AM PDT I'm new to mining just for your info. So i was using the Asus GPU Tweak software, and when i clicked on 'tools', I got a few other softwares recommended to me. One of those were Quantum Cloud mining, I read a bit about it and decided to download it for some extra cash every now and then. But as it was downloading, my anti-virus stopped it and said it contained 'other:malware-gen [tri]'. I know what that is, but would a mining software that was developed with Asus really contain that kind of malware? [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Sep 2020 11:12 AM PDT Hello! So i have a rig which i both play/work/mine on with 2 gpus and planning to expand further down the line with more gpu. (Total of 700/800w expected) I was thinking of getting some kind of protection in case of thunderstorms strikes when not at home. Should i get a power surge protection (about 15€ or am i cheaping out?) or 1000w ups (250€). Also with a ups would there be a loss of efficiency? Like, pulling more watts from the wall just by running the thing. [link] [comments]

Will actually a RTX 2060 Super pay itself over a year? Posted: 13 Sep 2020 08:42 AM PDT Hi there! I am a programmer from Argentina and I am building my next main PC. I want it anyway to be mining most of the time because it is supposed that in a year a RTX 2060 would pay itself. But, ignoring electricity bills, with the changes in difficulty and all that stuff, will it actually make at least $30 every month (Websites calculators say $42, but mine won't be 24/7). Or you say it is not worth it?. I could Also buy more cards in a future with the revenue, this time might be a 1660 ti or equivalent in a year. Antoher thing we can't predict is that ETC prices will change over time and therefore it's revenue also... and that's something that scares me. I choosed RTX because I will do deep learning also, and there is a huge advantage with RTX there, but I know a 1660 ti is more profitable. Also I do maintenance to computers and I can keep my hardware very clean. Planned hardware by now: Ryzen 5 3600 2x8GB ram 3200mhz (probably crucial ballistic) Nvme 512gb PSU 700W 80p white or 600w bronze RTX 2060 Super Motherboard Asus B550M Plus Wi-Fi [link] [comments] |
