Is it possible to cryptographically prove I have x number of tokens without revealing my address? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:28 AM PDT Is it possible to use some fancy zk proofs to prove that I have some tokens without revealing my identity? If yes, would it leave a fingerprint onchain that I made such a proof? [link] [comments]
Why don’t big Ethereum projects mine on Ethereum? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 02:19 PM PDT Ethereum is currently having trouble with high fees. This is pretty understandable because the network is pretty popular, and running all these contracts is expensive. Why aren't highly funded Ethereum projects not starting their own mining farms? Take for example Augur. I don't know if Augur actually has a lot of funds, but let's say they have. They could mine all the transactions that are calling Augur contracts, and make sure that fees stay low for their users. Right now creating a market on Augur can cost hundreds of dollars because their contract uses so much gas. Why aren't Ethereum project subsidizing using their contracts by mining all transactions that use those contracts themselves? What I mean of course is that they would require lower fees because they are prioritizing those transactions. There's probably a good reason for this, I'd like to hear some information about it [link] [comments]
Gas fees / scaling issues remind me of 2017 Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:44 PM PDT The issue Ethereum is having w/ congestion and gas fees right now is reminiscent of Bitcoin's scaling problems back in 2017. Right now only big players can profitably use Ethereum. I don't know who else is ok with burning a couple hundred $$$ worth of eth per transaction. If this doesn't get remedied quick I foresee a crash coming like the one at the end of 2017 happened to bitcoin for similar reasons. Tldr: Ethereum's not ready for mainstream yet and yet mainstream is at the doorstep, and they're all gonna leave just as fast bc of congestion/fees. Not intended to spread fud, but more as a reminder that we all need to encourage our devs to give scaling more priority before it's too late. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to hide my wallet trace before I send ETH to another wallet? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:24 AM PDT So the thing is a bookmaker has been tracking me to limit my newly created accounts asap by tracing which exchange I deposit from. Now I try to do a route like this : exchange -> new wallet -> bookmaker, its working so far but they still can see that the "new wallet" is receiving fund from my exchange before making a deposit. How do I hide that fact ? [link] [comments]

A proposal for the modification of the ethereum brand logo + 3d version + secondary logo Posted: 03 Sep 2020 03:18 AM PDT hello, i am not sure, where would be the right place to suggest this, or how to reach core devs/decision makers of the ethereum foundation (as this is actually also a proposal for slight modification of the original logo, which could be introduced silently)... i do not really want to steal 6 valuable minutes of time from u/vbuterin ... but as he was directly involved in the design, i guess, he would be the best recipient for this proposal. this video proposes:
thank you for your time... [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 01:27 AM PDT Can a raspberrypi be used as a dweb (decentralized web) server/ host? How far along is this/how hard would it be to code in Solidity? How would I go about testing this and would there need to be funds in the host address for it to be accessed? Thanks [link] [comments] |
