Best language for creating a Dapp? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 07:54 AM PDT I'm looking to create a Dapp and was wondering which language I would need to learn? I'm assuming JavaScript, HTML and CSS? Is this correct? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Send ethereum just with a smile ;) Posted: 06 Sep 2020 04:34 AM PDT I created a simple app using python and opencv that allows you to send ethereum transactions just with a smile ;)How it works:The app uses the webcam and once it detects a smile using the opencv A.I framework, it will send a transaction to the specified address to send transaction, i use ganache and web3.py So you could use this basically in any app making some minor changes. The link to the github repo:https://github.com/stakeinlinkies/sendwithasmile I hope you like itLink to medium: https://medium.com/me/stats/post/2834a196fe2a Part1part2 https://medium.com/@pandayorkie99/send-ethereum-transactions-with-just-a-smile-2-of-2-c5c452ce55bd YoutubeVideo: https://youtu.be/krZthWO7_3Q Address for beer and coffe donations:0xA8c4Fed1250e53fA6C34f5D28f543a9711bbe1ed [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Sep 2020 03:55 PM PDT I've been using uniswap, i prefer it over exchanges tho right with the GAS prices so high, its cheaper to use traditional exchanges or dexs. once USDT starts using omg's plasma there should be some pressure taken off ethereum. i suppose. however uniswap is consuming the most GAS regardless at the moment, i suppose this is set to continue. I'm curious if there is anything being done about the gas prices for protocols like uniswap? any technical documentation would be appreciated. As i understand it. The transaction moving from your wallet to uniswap to facilitate the trade. There is no ability to reduce the gas price as its a transaction on ethereum e.g. metamask. or is it possible to reduce gas in this scenario? if the above is possible, im curious how metamask or other wallets could use any L2 solutions that still work with web3js. I made a post asking much the same on uniswap sub but they all linked me to uniswaps own dex, why i dont see how this solves the gas problem at the wallet level. just to be clear, i realise i can set my own GAS prices, but theres not much point when the safe low is still expensive and you might have to rebroadcast your transaction with higher GAS later. UniShield community - join in the good fight Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:19 AM PDT The amount of crypto scams is high and ever-morhping. After writing articles about how Uniswap scams work The current state of the crypto is "game the un-gamed" and the dream of decentralization is seriously hindered by the number of people who just want to take quick profit scamming gullible people out of their money. We need to change that and change the culture of crypto space. [link] [comments]

Dapp Idea: Send Messages Into the Future Posted: 06 Sep 2020 10:39 AM PDT I am looking for feedback on a Dapp idea. Idea: Distributed Application that uses multiple key holders to encrypt a secret then decrypt it at a certain time in the future. Related work: How it works: The first step is to create a pool of bonded "key holders". Key holders place a deposit that they can lose if they break the rules. If the key holders follow the rules they will get part of the fee paid by the "secret sender". Next, the secret sender chooses n key holders from the pool. m of n key holders are required to decrypt the secret in the future. The secret sender sets the time when the secret will be decrypted and pays a fee proportional to how long the secret needs to be protected. Then the secret is encrypted using multikey encryption. At the end of the embargo period the key holders release their key allowing decryption of the secret. Key holders can lose their deposit if they do not release their key on time or if they release their key early. To prevent early key release there is a "report" function on the contract. If a key holder's key is discovered early, then anyone can submit that key to the contract and take the key holder's deposit. Note: there needs to be a way to prevent a key holder from contributing to the decryption of the secret without revealing their key. I don't know if this is possible. Once the key is decrypted the fee is distributed to the key holders. Limitations: There are certain limitations around how valuable of a secret you can protect with this system. For example, if someone wanted to know your secret early they could pay each key holder the deposit amount (plus an additional fee) in exchange for the key holder's key. --- Has anything like this been tried before? Is this system feasible? The paper above describes a similar system but it is centralized. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Sep 2020 01:29 AM PDT Morning everyone! I am currently working on a project that requires the use of a custom ERC-20 & perhaps ERC-1155 tokens to be created. As the network is running up to the ETH 2.0 launch I had a few questions regarding the updating of these tokens. Is there any best practices or anything we should take into account to ensure that our tokens comply with any change that may be implemented? I understand this may be hard to answer however any advice that anyone could offer would hugely help enlighten us for our project. Thanks for taking the time to read and answer, H [link] [comments]
