DDoS by releasing gas from storage, is it possible? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 03:17 PM PDT I'm rather fresh to Ethereum and I wonder if my reasoning is valid. Zeroing a storage value returns 15000 gas, which after subtracting 5000 for the writing operation gives an outcome of additional 10000 gas. Is it possible to immediately use this reclaimed gas for additional computations in the same transaction? If so, can it be used to run a DDoS attack on the network? A contract could be "charged" with storage, which then could be cheaply reclaimed. The fresh gas could be then used to stress the EVM until the whole transaction runs out of gas and gets reverted. The attacker could repeat this transaction and spend just 21000 + 5000 = 26000 gas per round, but with almost unlimited leverage on computation stress. [link] [comments]

DeFi alive!: the birth of Keykey, The Community-Owned DEX Posted: 04 Sep 2020 04:37 AM PDT Swap, Earn, and Farm LOCK, the Next Generation Swap, powered by LP Tokenomics & Governance! LOCK is a non-dilutive token, so your early support will not be outweighed by infinite-supply tokenomics. Pre-miners will own approximately 18% of the total LOCK token supply. After all, there are only so many fish in the sea! [link] [comments]
Is cloud mining profitable at all for ETH? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 08:56 AM PDT I'm curious that's all as to wether it is or it's just pointless at this point. If there is point to it is there any that are profitable what so ever? [link] [comments]
Is there any difference between Aragon and Colony? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 07:30 AM PDT There's even District0x, and I'm struggling to understand are there any fundamental difference between those projects? Are there more projects alike? [link] [comments]

How can the ropsten test net be brought back? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 02:50 PM PDT Ropsten has been stuck for a week, I think due to a chain re-org. What is the best way to get this resolved? [link] [comments]
Cancelling a transaction but no ETH back Posted: 04 Sep 2020 02:28 PM PDT i dont know where else to ask. i sent 0.5 eth to friend and since network was full yesterday, my transaction was pending. just now (more than 24h later) i went to MEW to cancel it (sent 0 eth to myself, used same wallet and same nonce). this new 0 eth transaction went through immediately and showed replacement for transaciton 11222 (the old one that was pending forever). after 5 min that sign "replacement for transaction 11222" dissapeared, old tx can not be found and 0.5 didn't arrive back to my wallet. when will it arrive back to my wallet? does it take hours or days? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 09:13 AM PDT A good resource to learn why stuff on Ethereum can't be done on Bitcoin second and third layers etc like Aantonoplpus was implying it can't on LTB. A good resource to learn why I should have conviction that Ethereum won't get replaced by a different Alt like ada or other over the next few years while we wait for POS and better scaling. Resource explaining Why losing a little immutability by switching to POS is okay for a utility/gas coin. Resources for some plausible bull cases for Ethereum as a utility/gas token. Resources explaining how Ethereum is decentralized enough for its purpose. Does it really need to be super decentralized since it's not trying to dethrone fiat? Is there a resource that talks about this and whether Ethereum is decentralized enough to resist governments? Resource about the game theory of cex vs dex when long run cex will probably be free for customers like traditional exchanges have become. Resource/answer about who would use double collateralized crypto loans when the possibility of exponential/insane investment returns is gone Thanks! [link] [comments]
