EIP 1559 : difference between actual fees and tips ? Posted: 14 Aug 2020 12:47 PM PDT I was reading about EIP 1559 ( which seems very promising ) and didn't understand what keeps tips from climbing like actual fees. If we can prioritize our transaction with a high tip, why is this different from the current situation? [link] [comments]

Is there way to generate multiple public key from one private key? Posted: 14 Aug 2020 12:09 PM PDT Whan I want to transfer ERC20 TOKEN I need to pay gas fee from ETH balance. If ETH balance is zero I can't send TOKEN. If I use private-public key pairs for each TOKEN transfers required also ETH balance. [link] [comments]
How to: an experimental contract to mint eth tokens by proving a bitcoin transaction in solidity Posted: 14 Aug 2020 06:28 AM PDT Since summa-tx allows you to prove a bitcoin transaction occurred on ethereum by providing proofs, I thought this experiment could inspire some people. The basic idea is this: if you had say an ICO or DAO that allowed you to mint tokens by using ETH, with a contract like this you could also allow someone to send bitcoin to a specific address, prove the transaction occurred and mint some tokens once proof has been supplied. Since the public key is revealed, you can derive an ethereum address from the bitcoin sender and mint tokens directly back to their original key. Take a look at the contract here: https://github.com/James-Sangalli/BitDEX/blob/buy-tokens-on-eth-with-btc/contracts/BuyTokensWithBTC.sol IMPORTANT NOTE: this is just a fun experiment, don't use it in production, at least not yet :) [link] [comments]

Got a little issue, help is much appreciated. Posted: 14 Aug 2020 08:11 AM PDT Hey guys, I know this will sound lame. I have sent a transaction from my cold storage to the metamask brave extension. The amount was 0.19 eth (80 dollars roughly) and after inputting the correct recipient's address (another address I control) I stupidly slightly lowered the gas fee. It resulted in a pending tx which after 10 hours I wanted to unstuck, so I did send 0 ETH from the FROM address (my cold storage) back to the cold storage. now the original tx: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x185f023a64b01fec8c6450421a6d9aa89feef7d5d7211f48cf2a91230518f0c5 says 'dropped and replaced' but these 0.19 ETH never made it back to my wallet. Are them lost forever? Any input is very much appreciated. Thank you! [link] [comments]

Block Reward Reduction EIP - reduce the block reward to 0.5 ETH Posted: 14 Aug 2020 01:09 PM PDT This EIP will reduce the block reward paid to proof-of-work validators. Reducing the block reward will maintain the status quo of periodic community-activated block reward reductions. https://github.com/JLilic/EIPs/blob/master/EIPS/2020%20Block%20Reward%20Reduction.md https://twitter.com/JohnLilic/status/1294359517220818945?s=20 [link] [comments]

ETH Miners Should Thank Community For Opposing ProgPow Posted: 13 Aug 2020 11:37 PM PDT ProgPow presented a terrible risk of splitting the community at a crucial time--just as DeFi was starting to gain traction. The collective voice of the community ultimately overcame the persistent push of certain mining interests and a few devs that backed them. Now, as DeFi blossoms, miners are reaping the reward with record mining fees. The broader community deserves a thank you from the mining community for steering Ethereum away from a disastrous split. Confusion about KYC and crypto reporting to the IRS....? Posted: 14 Aug 2020 12:25 AM PDT So KYC just means you created your wallet/exchange with personal information correct? And KYC is to prevent laundering and stuff and so everything gets reported to the IRS. So one thing I'm confused about is, if a wallet is created without any personal information for example an electrum wallet and you just receive and send (not buy or sell) how does the crypto company even report anything to the IRS? Like even coinbases wallet is non-custodial and doesn't require personal information to create, so where are they sending this 1099 tax form to and how does the IRS even know how much you have or had in your "wallet"? Sorry I might be totally off base and confused... my bad if I am [link] [comments]
Could someone help me to cancel my pending transactions? Posted: 14 Aug 2020 07:50 AM PDT Hi, 1. Txn hash (Transaction receipt): If someone comes forward to help me, I will provide transaction hash 2. Wallet provider Or exchange service: Crypto.com Wallet 3. Your question/issue: I am really stuck from the last 2 days with a few transactions. Since my initial transactions not fulfilled, I have initiated a few more transactions. I am unable to cancel the below transactions. Provided the Txn hash below, could you please help me to cancel those transactions? [link] [comments] |
