How does the Ethereum platform manage all of its data? Will this be a problem as adoption increases?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 02:54 PM PDT

Please correct me if I am misunderstanding something:

My understanding is that the Ethereum platform is a place for developers to develop dApps - applications that theoretically do not differ much from the applications that already exist today (e.g. facebook, snapchat, venmo, etc.), except for the fact that the servers that these applications run on, do not belong to a single entity like Facebook. Rather, these applications run on distributed, decentralized servers belonging to whoever supplies them, in this case, ETH miners.

I am not too familiar with what dApps are available out there right now, but imagine theres a dApp that grows to a scale like Facebook, something I've heard as a potential use case here and there. How would Ethereum manage all of that data regarding user info, comments, various media files, etc. Facebook has accumulated an unfathomable amount of data! How does this work in a decentralized model?

I can fathom a use-case like BTC. Every miner has a copy of the bitcoin ledger and can verify transactions, this doesn't sound like thaaaat much data. How does this work with something like a d-Facebook? Does every ETH miner/server have all of the data for every dApp? What is "validating" in this context?

I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

How can I get more involved with Ethereum and crypto?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 07:00 PM PDT

Here is the deal. I'm not looking for a job. But I have a lot of free time and I want to get involved with crypto projects. I don't need to get paid. I have some experience as mobile (kotlin and swift) developer and python and I'm studying blockchain, dApp and smart contract. How can I get to people call me for crypto related projects?

    Selling small amounts of Ethereum

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 11:49 AM PDT

    Hi,

I am new to Cryptocurrencies and have done some mining over the past week and accumulated a small amount of Etherium which I would like to sell. I have 0.036658 ETH stored in MyEtherWallet which is around $14 USD at the time of writing. I would like to sell my Ethereum using bank transfer (I'm in EU) or to PayPal. Most methods require ID approval or larger sums of Ethereum which is very inconvenient for me. Can anyone recommend a reputable place to sell my ETH? Thank you.
