Changes coming with Ethereum 2.0 Posted: 26 Aug 2020 03:02 PM PDT I want to preface this by saying that I am relatively new to the world of blockchain technology. My question is: if the Ethereum network is switching to a proof-of-stake model instead of the current proof-of-work one, where is intrinsic value of the ETH? With Bitcoin's 21million mining cap, the value of the Bitcoin comes from not only the demand for it, but from the work of miners (and exorbitant energy consumption), am I wrong? What happens when the currency is no longer generated from work and real-world cost? [link] [comments]

Optimal file system / block size for running an Ethereum Node Posted: 26 Aug 2020 05:05 PM PDT Can anyone help me - I am looking to setup an Ethereum archive node and was wondering whether there is an optimal file system / block size? I plan to run ZFS as the file system, real question is what would be the optimal record size for this? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

best/most trustworthy smart contract gambling projects Posted: 26 Aug 2020 07:39 PM PDT hey all I recently got introduced to datdrop and I thought it was really shady and kind of still think so but I wonder if there are any other nice projects like this maybe not related to csgo skins but mostly just fair and trustworthy would really appreciate any sources or recommendations [link] [comments]
Legal side of a DAO in Germany? Posted: 26 Aug 2020 07:35 AM PDT Hello! Does anybody know how the legal side of a DAO looks in Germany? Its hard finding information for this. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Technically - one could just deploy a backend and a frontend for a DAO and accept payment in DAI or Eth and that would be that. But I have an inkling that that would be illegal. What kind of registration would be needed to deploy a DAO in germany? What kind of legal entity would be useful? Or would it make more sense to register a company in a more crypto-friendly EU-state? [link] [comments]
A HyperLedger Based Client that is compatible with Ethereum ? Posted: 26 Aug 2020 08:17 AM PDT I watched this short interview between a representative of Consensys and CNN after they got Qurorum from JPMorgan, and the rep presented their existent hyperLedger Ethereum Compatible Client as a possible merger candidate with Qurorum. I must say I have been away from the eth scene for about 6 months but isn't this actually impossible to have? like hyperledge has always been in complete contrast to the model used by Ethereum. here is the vid : https://twitter.com/jchatterleyCNN/status/1298291266019561472 [link] [comments]
Is it possible to use the beacon chain RANDAO in ETH 1? Posted: 26 Aug 2020 01:55 PM PDT I am wondering if it is possible to use the RANDAO in the beacon chain as a source of randomness in a smart contract on ETH 1 when the beacon chain launches? [link] [comments]
is there a way to get funds back from the first ens contract? Posted: 26 Aug 2020 12:30 PM PDT Hi, I participated with the very first ens auction, I think there's still some small change left in that contract. I would need to look around a bit for the right wallet and such... Is it still possible to get eth back from that contract ? or has that ship sailed? [link] [comments]

Will they try to ban crypto-collaterized stablecoin like Dai? Posted: 26 Aug 2020 11:58 AM PDT If they try, that would be effective? What is the level of decentralization? Can we create something like Dai for renminbi/yuan to help our Chinese brothers? [link] [comments] |
