What people aren't understanding about the IFP Posted: 28 Aug 2020 07:44 AM PDT ABC wants a split- if the new BCH ABC is worth anything at all, they still make a ton of money off their tax. They're not trying to get the IFP in BCH- They're pulling out and cashing out, trying to make money instead of anything else. That's all it is. It's been signaled. Let them die. Ledger nano secret wallet question Posted: 28 Aug 2020 10:21 PM PDT Hello i want to ask if someone knows if the second wallet you create with the 25th word passphrase is somehow linked to the first wallet in any way, shape or form? I understand that im creating a totaly new wallet on the blockchain, so in that regard it wont be linked i suppose but what im more directly asking is if it leaves some type of trace or link with the original wallet for someone on the outside to look because its running on the same Trezor nodes, or using the base 24 word setup, or what ever really. anyone care to elaborate this matter for me :) [link] [comments]
scenario if something happens to bitmain? or jihan wu? and new board takes different direction? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 02:05 AM PDT Bitmain holds the biggest % in BCH. so the BCH holders would lose, because bitmain is its biggest holder and its biggest marketmaker, an exit would basicly destroy BCH. thats not the case for BTC, BTC has far more liquidity & marketmakers. exit of bitmain from BCH, would be the end of bch. it would crash to $20. and have no volume left. so what if something happens to jihan wu? would the new board of bitmain want to change strategies seeing that BTC makes them allot more money? and tech wise seems allot new competitors are launching with much larger transactions capacities. its a bit concerning cuz it looks like bch tech is becoming old and stagnating. I, for one, am glad the Bitcoin Cash DAA problems will be solved once and for all in november! Posted: 28 Aug 2020 05:20 AM PDT Title. It was a huge hurdle for usage especially since trading is still such an important usecase. Also the unreliable blocktime was part of the reason why the chain limit was such a problem. Finally it will be fixed, for good this time. Third time's the charm? [link] [comments]
Operation Mockingbird - remember that time when Bitcoin was peer-to-peer electronic cash? Posted: 28 Aug 2020 07:43 AM PDT Do you remember what it was like in 2013 and earlier when Satoshi / Gavin were running the project and the goal was more users, merchants and scaling? Do you remember that time when the exciting projects were getting merchants to accept Bitcoin for payments, wallet apps, and maps of businesses and people that used and accepted Bitcoin as money? Do you remember that time when the MIT digital currency initiative (sponsored by Jeffrey Epstein and his mysterious intelligence agency "investment money"), MasterCard, and Western Union all invested in Blockstream who suddenly consolidated control of the Bitcoin development group, smearing and attacking anyone who wouldn't get on board? Remember that time that Theymos, who had been pro-Bitcoin scaling suddenly had a personality change and started censoring and banning anyone who talked about scaling bitcoin from the two largest discussion platforms, bitcoin talk dot org and r\bitcoin? Remember that time when fake Bitcoin celebrities with marketing teams behind them started appearing out of nowhere with the view that we shouldn't increase the capacity of Bitcoin so more people can use it? Remember that time that countless NPC's changed the community's narrative from peer-to-peer electronic cash with the goal of merchant and user adoption to "digital gold" or some kind of digital tulip ponzi scheme that's too expensive to use for day-to-day currency? Remember that time when the miners, now consolidated in CCP controlled China, suddenly voted against their own best-interests, and decided to run software that rate-limits Bitcoin to 5 transactions per second, despite overwhelming community opposition? Pepperidge Farm remembers. This is Operation Mockingbird folks, just a 21st Century version of it. So was SegWit, BSV/CSW, and now this IFP bullshit from Amaury. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Aug 2020 02:46 AM PDT What has already happened will happen over and over and over again. We really need to deal with the fact that many will be bad, unethical people, especially the ones at the top. In coming years or even months more Amaurys, CSWs, Adam Backs, Gregory Maxwells and other scum will show up. It is certain. Because they always show up where there is something to be gained. This is how the world works. The ability to see and reject bad/unethical actors is critical for the survival of Peer2Peer Cash and making the world a better place. Every time a new Amaury shows up, we need to show him the door. Because P2P Cash is not about Amaurys or Gregs, it's about world-wide uncensorable and uncontrollable freedom money. Posted: 28 Aug 2020 07:00 AM PDT CashFusion brings exceptional levels of privacy to Bitcoin Cash, comparable to (or maybe even superior to) other privacy coins. It's already been used to fuse over 360,500 BCH, and has reduced the size of the UTXO set by ~31,000 outputs. Make sure to spin up Electron Cash 4.1.0 today and get that liquidity flowing! (The more people using CashFusion at once, the more Fusions happen, and the larger your "anonymity set".) If you had the pre-official-release 4.1.0, or the "release candidate" (with "rc" in the file name), you can update to the official 4.1.0 release for the latest version. New to CashFusion? No problem, getting set up is EASY. Just download the Electron Cash desktop wallet. It's got CashFusion built in! Set up your wallet (and be sure to write down your recovery phrase on a physical piece of paper, especially if you are going to hold significant amounts of coin in the wallet), then activate CashFusion by clicking the icon in the lower right: https://i.imgur.com/DXEPLtf.png Once it's activated, your wallet will start "fusing" the Bitcoin Cash it contains. Fusions happen over time as their own, separate transactions, and only cost you the network transactions fees (less than a penny). Each fusion transaction will include some of your coins*, so it will take multiple fusion transactions before all the coins in your wallet to be fused. (In the View menu, toggle the coins tab to see all of the coins in your wallet. In the "Label" field, fused coins will show CashFusion info.) Currently, Electron Cash keeps fusing your coins indefinitely. While it is on the roadmap to give you the option to stop fusing after some number of fusions per coin, there's no downside to leaving it to fuse continuously besides paying the transaction fees. (And every fusion gives you that much more privacy, while you are helping to provide "liquidity" for other fusers.) Also, EC does not yet yet prevent you from spending unfused coins, nor does it prefer fused coins when spending, so it's probably best to leave it fusing and keep your whole wallet fused, and/or pick your coins manually from the Coins tab. (If you want that functionality and/or you're not comfortable picking coins to spend from the Coins tab, you can always switch back to CashShuffle for now in the Optional Features window, accessible from the Tools menu.) Here's the CashFusion Telegram group where you are welcome to ask questions. (Just remember to be courteous!) Happy Fusing!! <3 *"Coins" are kind of a confusing concept when it comes to Bitcoin, but you can think of them just like discrete "bills" (or... "coins") in your wallet, but instead of coming in only certain sizes like $1, $5, $10, $20, etc, they can be any amount sent to you in a previous transaction, like 0.618 BCH, 0.000001 BCH, or 123.45679 BCH. (They can also be combined and split up. That happens in most transactions!) [link] [comments]

The IFP soft fork coin is an attack on Bitcoin Cash and has been widely rejected by the community. Posted: 28 Aug 2020 08:26 AM PDT If Amaury, with the help of the miners can change block rewards (IFP) with a soft fork, what stops anyone doing the same thing to BTC and BSV? This is the reason why everybody in the entire crypto community should be against the IFP soft fork. Bitmain (Antpool/BTC.com) and ViaBTC need to back the majority and put a final nail in this IFP coin coffin. After we win, let this time be a reminder that we must never return to the position where so much power is given to 1 person. Then we can resume making Bitcoin Cash sound money for the world! Are multiple node implementations required for decentralization? Posted: 28 Aug 2020 10:30 PM PDT Maintaining multiple node implementations requires more work and is definitely not the most efficient way for a network to operate. It can open new attack vectors and it does not seem to be helpful against corruption. Please reply with an argument for or against. [link] [comments]
