RX 580 Overclocking & MSI Afterburner Rookie Question(s) Posted: 10 Jul 2020 03:08 PM PDT TL:DR - RX 580 - changed from graphics to compute mode already. Adjusted settings in afterburner, can't get it to mine faster than 19-20 mh/s. What can I try? I set up my first rig a few weeks ago with 1 card to get things going - a RX 5700. All is good, and I've been using MSI Afterburner to tweak things. Getting about 53 mh/s. I just added a RX 580 card. I was expecting somewhere around 27+/- mh/s based on what i saw on WhatToMine. All I'm getting though is 19-20 mh/s. Originally it was only 9, but I found where i needed to change from Graphics to Compute mode. That got me from the 9 to 19. So I guess my few questions are - anything else to try? I've tried adjusting the settings in MSI afterburner and nothing seems to matter which seems weird. Moved the core and memory clocks up and down, no noticeable change at all which seems odd. As well, I see plenty of people talk about modding the bios, I guess I'm unclear on if that's needed or is MSI afterburner basically an alternative to that where you are adjusting without having to flash it? Any help appreciated, my eyes are crossed after reading though tons of forum posts etc. I realize its a bit older card, so a lot of the info I'm finding is several years old which also makes me unsure what else to try. If it helps/matters - using Nicehash, I set it to only use Phoenix miner only so both my cards were using the same miner for easier comparison. Before doing that the 580 was mining on lolminer but same idea wasn't really doing any better. [link] [comments] |
