Posted: 07 Jul 2020 07:00 AM PDT Hey all, been mining since 2017 but have just made the switch from Win10 to Linux. Learning Linux (Ubuntu) as I go and Googling options, but I see that my current miners are all Linux compatible (Phoenix, t-rex, z-enemy). Before I just stick with the same, just thought I'd ask around for any recommendations of miners or Linux mining in general. Using GKrellM to monitor temps. This isn't a dedicated mining rig, just a single-GPU PC. Thanks for any input! [link] [comments] |
5600 XT vs 5700 XT for Ethereum mining, the rundown? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 02:10 AM PDT From what I gathered: 5600 XT - 42 mh/s 93w-100w 5700 XT 52 mh/s - 120w-130w are these right or I can get better performance for either? currently where I live 5700 XT is 30% more expensive so 5600 XT is a better deal... Help with GPU testing for resale Posted: 06 Jul 2020 07:03 PM PDT I'm running into a GPU testing problem. I'm testing a large amount of used ASUS Rog Strix 570 4GB cards. They're supposed to be all stock bios, but you know how that goes...However they do look like they are from what I can tell (GPUz and comparison to know stock bios for this card). I have a windows test rig that I test lots of GPU on and I run them in Furmark. It works great when testing Nvidia but these AMDs I am having a ton of driver problems with cards not being recognized or being disabled by windows. Regularly I am having to DDU and reinstall drivers etc so that I can test them. I am getting this error a lot "no AMD graphics driver installed or the AMD driver is not functioning properly". After I reinstall drivers it will work for a few GPUs then stop again. Going backwards and using previously confirmed working GPU doesn't fix it. So I know it's almost certainly a software issue. Does anyone have experience with this and input on what's up with my test rigs software and how I can fix it to streamline my testing processes going forward? Are there better OS or software to use to test gaming GPUs? I know I can test this with mining software but I need to test them from the gaming GPU angle at this time. [link] [comments] |
