I am into crypto. Bought my first bitcoin. Am I doing this right?

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced it would be streamlining the application process for investment companies, potentially resulting in expedited crypto and blockchain firms operating in a “more efficient and less costly manner.”

Why is ADA doing so well lately?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2020 02:08 AM PDT

I've been curious about the technology behind crypto currencies, and the market mechanisms that give them value. I bought different cryptos a few years ago simply for fun. I enjoyed watching the poor souls asking "when lambo" and "when moon". Anyway, most of the cryptos went down the drain or "stabilised" as some optimistically care to call it. The past 6-12 months have been fairly calm. But for some reason, Ada as slowly been ticking up. Why is that? Why Ada out of all cryptos?!

Sphereon is integrating its product suite with LTO Network, adding thousands of transactions

    Posted: 07 Jul 2020 04:24 AM PDT

    https://blog.ltonetwork.com/sphereon-product-suite-data/

Sphereon as a software vendor is blockchain (fabric) agnostic for obvious reasons. Therefore it is great to see that LTO will be the default setting for a number of their solutions, a choice to activate in other packages and will be used in new use cases that will be developed by Sphereon and LTO Network together.

Check out their solutions here and these are some highlights from their product suite:

Other chains Sphereon has integrations with are Ethereum, Factom (??? weren't they dead?) and HyperLedger, so LTO is in good company, however LTO has a more attractive financial model (for its crypto followers and clients) and with a micro-block time of 1.2 seconds, data integrity for clients is almost instantaneous, while costs for using LTO are significantly lower than its data integrity competitors.

How to convert your Moons into real money (Dai)

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 01:02 PM PDT

Here is a little step-by-step to convert your Moons into Dai...a reddit user made this possible, check out his video if you have any issues - https://np.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/hklh3o/xmoon_exchange_is_live_trade_reddit_moons_for/

Here is what you will need to do in preparation to sell your moons.

    -Get metamask setup on Chrome/Brave

-Fund your metamask wallet with a bit of eth (needed to convert XDai into Dai)

-Get some eth from a Rinkeby testnet faucet for free (moons are currently on this testnet)

-Add XDai as a custom network ( https://dai.poa.network ) to metamask

-Send your moons from the vault to your metamask address (they will show only in the Rinkeby testnet on your metamask)

Then after those are steps are done, go to https://xmoon.exchange/ and follow these steps

-Connect your metamask wallet to https://xmoon.exchange/

-Switch to the Rinkeby Testnet, convert Moons to Xmoons

-Switch to Xdai custom network on metamask

    -Convert XMoon to XDai

    -Convert XDai to Dai

Now you should have Dai in your main metamask wallet. Sorry if I missed any steps, and you might need a little bit of xDai to cover fees the first time.

    Before Bitcoin there was E-Gold

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 11:27 AM PDT

Before Bitcoin there was E-Gold. Ideology of E-Gold was a private, international currency that would circulate independent of government controls, and stand impervious to the market's highs and lows.

Founded in 1996, E-gold was a digital gold currency operated by Gold & Silver Reserve Inc. (G&SR) under e-gold Ltd. that allowed users anonymously to open an account on their web site denominated in grams of gold (or other precious metals) and the ability to make instant transfers of value ("spends") to other e-gold accounts. At its peak, the company held 3.8 metric tons of gold, valued at more than $85 million. Customer base was 3.5 million in 165 countries, with 1,000 new accounts opening every day. E-Gold at this time was second only to PayPal in the online payment industry.

The U.S. government charged E-Gold with being an unlicensed money transmitter in 2007 and the project's directors pleaded guilty in 2008.

Allegedly U.S. government suppressed crucial evidence in a 2008 landmark case that has since shaped the cryptocurrency industry.

Many crypto businesses subsequently have had to be regulated as money transmitters in individual states if they want to operate legally.
