    I have included this subreddit in the Subreddits category, also there are categories for Ethereum beginners, for those who are interested in Ethereum 2.0, newsletters, podcasts, and many more. As the site is new, I think there is plenty of place for improvement.

    I would like you to give it a try and provide me with feedback on what could be improved or what resources could be added.

    Creating a true Membership Experience using ETH

    Something that's been sitting on my mind for a while, is how to create a Membership on the ETH network, I'm not exactly sure how ERC 721 tokens are supposed to behave, and I'm confident that I have many flaws in my theory in connecting things, or maybe it's correct.

    There's the Membership Types, for simplicity, let's introduce 3 examples :

    • Silver
    • Gold
    • Platinum

    I. A Membership can be "lifetime" which would technically make things simple, but that's not the case usually, it's either for a 1 month period, or 1 year period, process ?

    ​

    1. The Membership type would be ERC 20 token.
    2. The Membership type ERC 20 token is somehow transformed into an ERC 721 token, that includes the address that has claimed the membership, membership type and determines an valid_untill timestamp. ( claimed memberships are non-fungible, but lets say you purchase a 1 year plan, that gives you 12 ERC tokens, you claim 1, and then you have 11 left to share, in some business this might be wanted, or not wanted, instead making 2 different ERC 20 Tokens for Monthly & Yearly claims ), is it easy to match a parent -> child relationship from the ERC20 / ERC721 ?
    3. Accounts are matched ( ether address & platform account in application ) trough a wallet such as metamask, and users will connect their address to the account.
    4. ( misc ) Is there a way to automate the *consumption* of the ERC 20 token, to transform it into an ERC 721 token, to make something very close to an automatic billing option ( considering that tokens are bought in advance )

    II. The ETH Network is responsible to host the membership status & handle the payments, while the Platform ( Web App ) is responsible for the Content Delivery and organization, certifications could also be implemented as ERC 721 tokens most likely, which would make things pretty cool, but Memberships are a fun issue to tackle in my opinion.
