BIG THANK YOU TO DAN (the scam) LARIMER and BRANDON DUMMER

    Posted: 23 Jul 2020 06:33 PM PDT

Sold the last of this awful shitcoin - feels amazing. In closing I want to THANK YOU: Brandon and Dan (the scam man Larimer): THANK YOU for launching Voice OFF the EOS main chain- THANK YOU for pandering and catering to government satanic scum in the district of criminals for the last 2 years - THANK YOU for your non-vote and non-solutions in regards to Chinese monopoly and collusion of BP's. THANK YOU for letting Joe Lubin run the reputation of this project into the ground with propaganda. THANK YOU for spending 0$ of the 4 billion to counteract it — THANK YOU - for your decision to 'change' social media into a KYC format that forces you to post your legal name so that scammers and people who live on kibbutzes could more easily and readily dox, harrass and steal from the users. THANK YOU for making a platform NO ONE on earth will be interested in — THANK YOU Guys! You're truly the best humanity has to offer! I can finally delete these chat and the stench that this project has caused in my nostrils. It feels good man... it already feels damn good! RIP EOS, R I fugging Peeeeeee!

Due diligence process for investing in Crypto

Here are the basics I got

    • Does it have a website? I mean this is a pretty obvious one. You can tell straight away if something is off
    • Read the whitepaper. Big words and empty promises are red flags. Does this stuff make sense?
    • Figure out who the developers are. What's their background, how experienced are they? Are they even real?
    • Is there a github? We can actually see the project and if they are actually working on it. Does the code make sense?
    • Think about uses cases and how big the potential market is. Who are the biggest competitors? Important: The biggest competitors are very rarely other coins, but actual real world companies
    • Do they have contact points? Is there a Telegram or Discord group that can offer transparency on whats going on?
    • Is success of the product behind the coin tied to an increase of the coins value?

What else needs to be done?

Edit: Be careful if they are overusing trendy buzzwords like Defi or deflationary. They are quite popular at the moment.

First trade via Kyber Network - why are transaction costs so high?

    Hello,

today I decided to use a decentralized exchange, Kyber Network.

I decided to swap the minimum amount of ETH (0.001 ETH) to KNC.

I got the following output (please check the image below).

    Let's break down the output:

    - the exchange rate seems legit when compared to the trading pair on coingecko (https://www.coingecko.com/de/munze/kyber-network/eth).

    - the transaction fee seems very high: 0,050929 ETH

While I don't really have to understand the stuff about Gas Price and Gas Limit (I just know that those are Kyber Network terms and have something to do with its token, I think..), I wonder why the transaction fee is so high: 0,05 ETH, which is >10$

It is conflicting to what other sources say about transaction fees on Kyber Network (https://www.cryptowisser.com/exchange/kyber-network/#:~:text=Kyber%20Network%20Trading%20fees&text=Kyber%20Network%20is%20one%20of,around%200.10%25%2D0.15%25)..)):

"It offers a flat trading fee of 0.10% on all successful limit orders. The flat fee of 0.10% is quite in line with, or even slightly below, the current industry averages (arguably around 0.10%-0.15%)."

For my trade, given that trade volume is 0.001 ETH, transaction fee would be 5000%.

What am I not getting here?

Btw, this was the URL: https://kyberswap.com/swap/eth-knc

Wouldn't oracles create more points of failure?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2020 03:20 AM PDT

Hello all. This is more if a question intended for developers, but all are welcome. I was reading into oracles more and it's very interesting how it allows data from external sources to interact with smart contracts. My concern is the possibility of attacks or bad actors interacting with oracle, allowing manipulation of the data between the smart contracts and the former. Is this a genuine concern or am I missing something?
