Posted: 17 Jun 2020 05:28 AM PDT I've seen videos from way back 2017 of people showing their RX 580/480 rigs that averages around only 24~25Mh/s overclocked bios moded. But currently all of the sources are saying these cards is averaging around 30Mh/s? Is it because of the driver that has improved over the years or it has something to do with something else? | 4gb dag size, amd polaris dying one after another Posted: 16 Jun 2020 04:23 PM PDT I have been mining for the last 3 years with polaris rx 470 and so far on this month I lost 5 gpu's, I think as the dag size increases and the more memory is used, the more aggressive has been for the memory and as ethash is memory intensive algorithm, the more aggressive the more chances you have the memory will die. The GPU still functions, fans work but once is on windows an error code 43 is thrown, amdatipatch does not work to solve that 43 error and only removing it entirely other gpus can work. My question is, you people with 4gb polaris, have you been with the same issue as I have? I mean, like i said before 5 polaris gpus turned out to have that error 43 this month and that means gameover. I did not try using those 5 gpus on linux. Also I wonder, if my theory is right, if I want my polaris gpus with 4gb to survive i will have to switch to a lower size dag file algorithm for example like, Expanse, Ubiq, Metaverse and other or Ravecoin.
