What's your experience with trading on DEXes?

I've never done this. Some attractive features appear to be:

You earn interest while holding using Compound. Whether you are in a stable coin or in wrapped BTC, you can be earning interest.
You control the keys.
No KYC, etc.

Which DeFi apps are you using? What's your process? Do you then go to Compound (or another app) to generate interest?

What are the risks or downsides of all this?
