    What is Witnet?

    Witnet is a decentralized oracle network (DON) that connects smart contracts to the real, off-chain world. Broadly speaking, it allows any piece of software to retrieve information published at any web address at any point in time, with complete and verifiable proof of the information's integrity, without blindly trusting any third party.

    The Witnet protocol achieves this by permitting a network of computers to act as a "decentralized oracle" that retrieves, attests and delivers information to smart contracts, with no single point of trust.

    The Witnet Testnet is open for anyone to join and test it by running their own full node. Witnet requires neither Proof of Work nor Proof of Stake - our custom reputation system means there's no need for expensive hardware or large initial investments.

    The Witnet Testnet Incentive Program

    The Witnet Community has put a whole lot of blood, sweat and code into creating a robust protocol, with an incentivization mechanism behind it that will ensure the long-term health of the network. However, the game theory and the mechanisms that underpin the project need real-world testing, with real-world rewards. The Incentivized Testnet is a way to test the network in a sandbox environment to make sure it works as intended.

    In addition, there's still a lot of work to do to ensure that the documentation, community channels and external communication is top-notch. The Witnet Foundation acknowledges the importance of ensuring that early community participants are rewarded for their vital contributions.

    Rules and Rewards:

    For Phase 2, we are looking at a much broader participation, with no limit on the number of participants. Accordingly, the Witnet Foundation has allocated a much larger reward pool:

    • Up to 25,000,000 WIT tokens (1% of the total WIT supply)
    • Up to 30,000 $DAI

    To participate, you must abide by the requirements, as laid out in the Program Terms and Conditions, which include that:

    • you are at least 18 years of age
    • you are not a U.S. citizen or resident, and you are not participating in the program on account or benefit of a U.S. person
    • you understand that any WIT tokens you receive as part of the program are only intended for their use within the Witnet Network and have no intrinsic value outside of the network

    Is there space for an upcoming cryptocurrency exchange in this crowded business?

    Hey Everyone,

    I am posting this message regarding our Upcoming project which is an Cryptocurrency Exchange. I know many of you will say that Exchange market is crowded etc etc that this will fail but what i believe is that no space is every crowded if you are bringing new and added value to that market. Additionally, when later on in the post i will talk about our IEO, those same people will say that this is a scam or the market is dead.Before, you guys make a judgement, please read out about the project and why we believe in it. Not every Upcoming project who will try to fund raise is a scam and not every project will fail. Sorry, if i have offended anyone up-to this point. I will answer every question on the thread apart from the toxic/negative/illogical one's that might come as well.

    Our platform is launch ready while some of the exclusive features are under development. Although, i have provided a link for the Exchange demo below, everything here is responsive apart from few things i.e. registration is turned off reason being we are currently hosting this on a free server as we closed the server few months back after we concluded the Closed beta testing because the server costs were really high. Rest everything is Responsive and works like a charm. It might as well be slow to load. If anyone wants to test trading on the platform, you can slide into my dm i can provide you with the admin account to test it.

    About our recent developments: we are conducting an IEO on http://exmarkets.com/launchpad/brt-btc which will start on 25th of june. We are not just doing a money grab by representing a piece of paper instead we have an actual product to support it. Which is really rare in this space. I will explain the reason for the IEO as well, the bulk of it is for Liquidity operations so that we don't end up ill-liquid like 100's of other exchanges, so that we don't buy a 5000$ package from a russian company to fake our volumes and than bragg about it by paying our way to the coinmarketcap top 20, so that we don't pay 10000$ every month to a third party Liquidity provider who will eventually take away all the profits from the transaction fees. Apart from this, we do need some funds to continue our development. we have a lot of things in mind that we want to achieve with our Exchange.
