Posted: 18 May 2020 08:23 AM PDT Pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/tvMgfq4Dse2iQRs77 My Attic Garden. I have been mining since the 2017 bull run and never really stopped. I started mining in my basement with one 3-card rig. It warmed my server room but was not bad. I expanded a little more and added a few more rigs to my server rack. This was when I needed better heat dispassion. I removed a window and added 500 CFM exhaust, and piped in my AC directly in front of my rack. That worked ok. However, it still warmed up my entire basement. It was fantastic in the winter; I just flipped my AC vent to go straight into my cold air intake of my furnace. Heated about three rooms. Fast forward to today: I decided that 2020 is my year to expand. I have a 50 amp 240v Panel in my garage. I started out with just putting a few rigs in the attic/loft space. That worked ok until recently when it started to get warmer out and I still had rigs in my house/server rack/work bench – Really anywhere they would fit. I ended up buying a 48x72 shelving unit and a 18" 2,000 CFM exhaust fan. My Calculations say that I will exchange all the air in my garage every 10 min. Next step is to add plastic or foam boards to funnel all air through the rigs. Now I have all rigs in one place, out of the way, and I hopefully have enough air flow to maintain operating during the summer months. (time will tell) But temps are already significantly lower than normal. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments below. Noob, getting started and the HowToMine.com calculator Posted: 18 May 2020 05:23 AM PDT edit: i mean WhatToMine.com not howtomine! I made that one up Hi folks, Noob here, read the wiki and trawled the group for some great info. Looking at purchasing my first rig, i think ive got 3 main options: 1, Buy new (6 x 2080ti rig) £10,000 plus vat (£12k) 2, Buy second hand (6 x 1080ti) £4000 3, Build my own using new or second hand parts £2000 upwards Ive been making a spreadsheet so i can work out what is my best options financially (asset value, depreciation, ROI). BUT i am struggling using the WhatToMine.com calculator! When i navigate to the main page i enter in 6 x 1080i and calculate. It gives me a list of coins ranked via profitability...Great! So the ROI isnt fantastic, currently its showing me that MWC- CT31 is the most profitable mine, bringing in a whopping $5.32 revenue, $2.58 profit. SO good so far... however if i click on the coin to see information a little more in depth, the calculator is showing the same financial figures BUT it has replaced the calc figures with it running at 2.0h/s hash rate.... should i up this to the 240 h/s the rig runs at? Because when i do the figures just sky rocket to unrealistic figures of like $160usd per day profit? I assume i am fundamentally not understanding either the Hash Rate figure correctly OR how the rigs hash rate figure actually works when mining? Any help and guidance on this would be awesome. Ive watched about 10 hours of youtube vids and trawled numerous FB groups to work out where i am going wrong and i am still non the wiser! Also, if anyone wants to chuck their two cents in to my plans for my first rig then fire away, i am but a sponge absorbing all the info i can. Thanks guys!! [link] [comments] |
Can Zotec P102-100 and 2060 RTX play together? Posted: 17 May 2020 04:07 PM PDT I have a rig with a couple NVIDIA 2060 RTX cards. I tried adding two Zotec P102-100 cards, which are stripped down 1080ti cards. The P102s are not recognized by the current NVIDIA driver and if I install drivers for the P102s, then windows stops the 2060 device and gives an error 43 in the device manager. Anyone have a driver that will support both versions at once? Thank. [link] [comments] |
Radeon VII mining with display connected to iGPU? Posted: 17 May 2020 09:34 AM PDT Hi folks, Got a few (6) R VIIs on a rig and I can't mine with them if the display is connected to the integrated graphics (intel G3900)! All miners crash or don't even launch. On any algo! AMD software doesn't even launch. As soon as I connect the display into a R VII gpu I can get to mine with (almost) all of them. AMD software works. Why is this happening? This never happened with my Vega 64s! Also in both scenarios I get a code 43 error for one of the GPUs. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers! [link] [comments] |
