I have tried supporting bitcoin but the relationship isn't mutual. Posted: 19 May 2020 02:29 AM PDT Every single time I have the opportunity to flex bitcoin, I do. If bitcoin will become the real internet money, it really have to have negligible transaction fees. Don't tell me someone sent $20 million and paid only $5 in transaction fees. That means nothing. Majority of money transaction doesn't consist of $20 million transactions. I don't speculate in bitcoin so i don't really know what's going in with all the politics and what's not but I tried buying a domain name yesterday at a price of $8.80 and I was supposed to pay $5.96 in network fees!!! like WTF!! I won't do that. No one will do that. I tried looking on the internet as to the reason but I didn't see anything on Google that i could relate. Can someone tell me exactly why I have to pay close to 70% of an item value in transaction fees? these transactions are what will make bitcoin internet money. Can't fees be restricted to a certain amount for these daily transcations to build more use case for bitcoin. [link] [comments]

MMW: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin if there is an upcoming bull-run Posted: 18 May 2020 07:36 PM PDT Before I go into why I think Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin, I just want to say that the odds of BCH taking over BTC are very slim to none. I don't want to hate on this community, but the gap between BCH and BTC has just been increasing. At this point, I think it's too late. People realize the lies spread by Blockstream, but pretty much everyone sees "Bitcoin" as Bitcoin. I think this upcoming bull-run (that is, if it happens), Ethereum has the greatest chance of overtaking Bitcoin by a long-shot. Ethereum is changing the nature of finance, and you can build a lot on top of it. Not only this, but it's far more usable as peer-to-peer cash than Bitcoin. Fees are significantly less, transactions are faster, and it has smart contract capability. Last bull-run, we saw Ethereum reach a market cap of $128 billion. This was more than 30% of Bitcoin's market cap, not to mention the volume of transactions were not much less than those of BTC. The fact that we can create an Ethereum token on BTC just shows how useless BTC is. You can have the "store of value" aspect of BTC, and not have the ridiculously high transaction fees. Could the flippening happen during the next 2-3 years? Posted: 18 May 2020 05:10 PM PDT BCH or ETH are the main contenders here. In fact they are they only real contenders. They both pushed BTC hard in 2017 but didn't quite make it. Now this time we are where we were in mid 2016. Fees then were 10 cents but now they are in the low dollar range. Segwit did quite a bit to bring down congestion. It made the noobs and maxis forget that BTC has a problem which it will one day crash into head on. What people tend to not realize is that the number of transactions does not have a linear relationship with fees and the mempool size. Once the tx number reaches a tipping point then we have a bottle neck effect and the fees rise dramatically. BCH will be in a perfect position to target BTC. But if a flippening does happen, what will be its effects? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 May 2020 04:28 PM PDT Youtubers sometimes list a custom paypal.me link (example), which makes it easy for fans to donate to the youtuber. I do know that Bitcoin.com allows people to buy BCH with credit cards. IDEA: Allow vloggers & bloggers to create custom payment links (like bitcoin.me/markdice), so their normie non-crypto fans can use their credit cards to make USD donations, and BCH is sent to the vlogger/blogger's BCH address. This would be especially useful for vloggers/bloggers who have been banned from Paypal & Patreon, and are down to accepting cryptocurrency donations. A custom payment link would allow them to accept credit card donations from their non-crypto fans, while receiving BCH. [link] [comments]

BTC next-block fee crosses 200 satoshis/byte, hitting 1-years high Posted: 18 May 2020 09:32 AM PDT Source: https://bitcoinfees.earn.com. As I write this, the status is: "The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 230 satoshis/byte" As BTC fees continue to skyrocket, please remember that this is the direct result of BTC's fixed block-size limit policy. This is basic Econ 101 stuff. When you introduce a supply ceiling below the market equilibrium, the price of the good being limited rises. BTC's tiny block-size limit is a supply ceiling, and the outrageous fees that BTC users must pay are the direct result it. [link] [comments] |
