    Long-term hodler losing confidence

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 04:56 AM PDT

Let me start off by saying I am not trying to spread FUD. XRP was the first digital asset back in 2017 I ever bought and years of research only increased my confidence in the project as a potential dark horse to become a big player in the industry.

Solid use case, partnerships, and the strong management team were amongst the pivotal reasons for me to invest.

However, things have been awfully quiet for perhaps over a year. Garlinghouse and Schwartz mentioned dozens of banks would be using XRP, Ripple would be working with major household names, but two years have passed and very little has been made public.

This raises the question if things are perhaps not going according to plan. xRapid was rebranded in ODL and Ripple seems to be focusing a lot on low value remittance markets through their stake in MGI , as opposed to Garlinghouse claiming to have a product that would make cross border transfers for banks more efficient, taking away the need for dormant capital (nostra/vostro etc).

I don't want to speculate on the reasons for Miguel Vias leaving, because they might be (personal) for all we know, but Ripple has gone very quiet. I don't think it's a good sign that the biggest announcements this year have been a lawsuit against Youtube and a podcast, in addition to the "leak" on BoA.

It goes without saying that retail investors are probably not in scope by Ripple anymore and that shows by the lack of engagement with the community, but also the exposure in MSM by Garlinghouse seems to have quiet down.

Perhaps the developments continue to happen behind the screens, but the so far the use case / ODL have not had any positive impact on price and XRP continues to move along with BTC.

The lack of announcements in the past year or so on partnerships, developments, etc. has affected my previously rock solid confidence in the use case of XRP. Perhaps adoption is not going according to plan, perhaps there are other reasons, but in absence of proper communication, it's a guessing game. I am not planning to sell my stack, but I am strongly considering to sell long before I had initially planned.

Again, I am not trying to spread FUD, I am reevaluating whether my investment in XRP is still worthwhile or not.

D.Y.I is the best analyst in crypto bar none

I really like this guy. He's a genius. He explains chart analysis in a way that anyone can understand. I have never disagreed with any of his predictions. He's been wrong only due to geopolitical events outside his control. I've seen 40%+ gains shortly after his predictions. He chooses the same coins as me, independently. He goes more in depth with the chart analyses than I do. I look for simple reversal trends. He looks at long term trends.

Ripple’s David Schwartz, Arthur Britto, and crew have updated their custodial service website, Polysign inc. It is “possible” that they are ready to begin onboarding clients to utilize their services/products...if not already doing so.

    Polysign Website

As many of you may or may not know in 2017 David Shwartz, along with fellow co-developer/creator of the XRP Ledger Arthur Britto, with other well known Silicon Valley/financial industry names came together to "...develop state-of-the-art, secure, scalable infrastructure for financial institutions to fully leverage their digital assets." In essence, Polysign inc. intends to provide high-grade custodial services to financial institutions to facilitate their gradual entrance and utilization of digital assets and technology in a safe, secure, scalable, and trustworthy environment. Many of us know how skeptical most people and goverment(s)/regulator(s) are in regard to cryptocurrencies, thank you 2017-2018 nostalgic bull-run that placed crypto on the proverbial map, as a result of various failed company adventures/start-ups, exchanges, dev teams, etcetera whom have come and gone often taking investor's money along with their exit or disappearance. Millions upon millions of dollars scammed, hacked, or lost due to "sudden exchange closure," the all-to-well-known Mt. Gox bankruptcy in 2014 that remains in legal limbo today, or the infamous death of an exchange CEO cough Quadriga cough with a loss in excess of ~$130mil. If you don't know about the negative moments that play part in crypto's relatively short existence, please perform a simple google search which will bring to light the reasoning behind the high-level of skepticism of this market, its safety (or lack therof) for investors, and practical use-case(es) touted by many companies of the past who failed to bring their business plan to fruition in which us little guys, the smaller investors, were often left with a loss of unrecoverable loss of funds.

I just felt like sharing the link to their website as they have revamped it considerably and have removed the "Sign up for early access" link. In my opinion, it is nice to see continued progress with any investment I make which holds especially true in this market. That being said, while Polysign inc. is not directly affiliated with Ripple, nor do they have/share Ripple's intention/goal of increasing exposure and use of XRP as a settlement tool ( i.e. ODL), their business/long-term goal of being a trustworthy custodial provider for large corps is very positive for cryptocurrency/cryptoassets/cryptoworld in general. The upgrades/changes made to their website with new, more in-depth descriptions of their intentions and services to be offerred leaves me to "assume" they are one step closer to going live with their product...if they haven't already. One thing I have noticed is that Polysign inc. and company are very hush hush about their current status. I don't have the energy to find the video/interview of David Schwartz giddily talking about Polysign, albiet vaguely, and how proud and excited he is in regard to the Custodian's services/products, though he claimed NDAs restrict him from commenting further and the interview moved forward. If I recall correctly the interview was sometime within the last 4-5 months. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I support my assumption due to Polysign CEO Jack McDonald's statement that PolySign is "...in early beta and is expected to go live with services [at some unknown date] in 2020" via a short bio-clip, which can be found in the link below. The statement is from December, 2019 prior to one of, if not the, largest digital wealth management event(s) hosted each year. It is known as INVEST West, hosted by Arizent. It is comparable to Ripple's SWELL event though larger, > 300 senior execs, with many other top personnel and industry leaders in the various facets within the financial world.

Invest West - Jack McDonald short bio

Besides, David is just an awesome guy. I can't help but to support someone like him, David Britto, and co. in their endeavors to bring legitamacy to this technology and developing space. I hope you all enjoy this information whether it is new to you or is simply a refresher on a subject you already know/knew about. I'm a big fan of learning about the various companies being built to bring legitimacy to this new, sometimes maddening, cryptocurrency/cryptoasset world. Anywho, I've had enough computer time writing this post. Time for exercise.

    Crawl, walk, run.
