GPU Mining I have a serious addiction. Got 2 more VII's on the way. I'm starting to wonder if I should've gotten into drugs instead. It probably would be more financially responsible than mining lol.

    1070ti burned out

    Posted: 20 Apr 2020 07:17 PM PDT

EVGA 1070ti SC which i had bought new Dec 2017. i used it for mining full time for around 14 months total. anyway, i smelled burning plastic smell from my computer room today. the card had stopped running for about hour and half according to mining program. i took apart the card and saw that the R33 inductor had cracked in it. also it had shifted. i guess the solder contacts must have melted and the r33 actually moved a few mm to where it was actually touching the neighboring r22 . you can google 1070ti r33 and see refernce of r33 and r22 location to see what i mean.

is this typical to happen to gpu mining card? i kept my card at 60C and 75%tdp. shouldnt that have not overheated the inductor? do you think its a faulty card fro mthe manufacturer? i see google results that it seems to be common in evga 980ti that inductor r33 burns out, and maybe people are overclocking or something. but havent seen any posts about 1070ti ones.

i wonder if i can solder on anr33 and it will continue working. something like this:https://www.ebay.com/itm/TDK-1210-Size-330nH-Molded-Inductor-0-33uH-NLCV32T-R33M-PFR-RoHS-Qty-100/162457867063?hash=item25d33e5337:g:jJIAAOSwZ3teTLox

How do I set a working gpu limit for the claymore miner.

    Posted: 20 Apr 2020 05:46 PM PDT

I've got the claymore mining ethereum in the nanopool but if I want to limit the gpu usage in any way it doesnt do anything. I'm talking about the default variables in the default example batch file. If I set the ones like total_max_gpu_usage to 70 rather than 100 it completely ignores it. How can I get a proper gpu limit working for this miner?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2020 10:24 AM PDT

I would like to setup a windows gpu servers where I can give access to certain people the processing power but not access to the actual window itself.

Would I have to do ssh or any recorded software? I saw juptyrhub but not able to install it
