How much do people actually care about losing their money in an exchange? Posted: 19 Apr 2020 07:11 AM PDT You often hear people talking about how decentralized exchanges should be used by everyone, but obviously DEXes are a tiny percentage of all trading. Stuff like Uniswap is getting popular but it's clearly not a solution without risks. Do you think it's an issue of technology or people just not caring about it? Maybe the solution to the lack of trust in the space isn't just to move everything to decentralized exchanges/DeFi? For example with the Maker hacks, its creators were quick to say that people should know the risks and that it's not Maker's fault that the protocol failed. Sometimes centralized accountability could actually be a benefit, especially for new systems. Maybe we just need another solution, some kind of hybrid. What do you guys think? I would appreciate anyone who'd fill out my survey on the matter. Full disclosure, this is basically market research for a potential startup idea I've had, but I mean no harm. It doesn't collect any personal data (beyond basic demographics that doesn't identify you) and I'm not building a mailing list. I can share the results if you're interested :) Here it is: https://forms.gle/JXRoa9BDb4LDPiU5A [link] [comments] | |||||||||
