Is anybody else having trouble buying crypto with card?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 05:55 AM PDT

Over the last week i have tried purchasing BCH on bitcoin.com wallet and atomic wallet with a Philippine credit card and American debit card. Today i tried purchasing BTC thru ABra wallet with american debit card.

All transactions failed. I received messages saying that "You can not purchase BCH at the moment please try again later". Today's message from ABRA was the following: We were not able to purchase BTC on any of our partner exchanges. Please try agsin later.( Or something of that sort)

Did anybody purchased crypto in the last week thru debit card? If so, where did you purchase it from?

Are we in the moment Where all exchanges are sutting down because of the coming economic collapse and possible hyperinflation ( in my opinion)?

    Getting Businesses to Accept BCH

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 11:30 AM PDT

    Hello r/btc

I was just wondering, who on here has managed to convince a business or businesses to begin accepting BCH as a payment method?

I try and spend or use my BCH where possible and have even left services for other ones purely for the reason they accept BCH and I can't wait for the day where I can pay for pretty much everything in BCH.

I have never managed to convince someone to switch to accepting it though, and truth be told I would be stuck as soon as they say "Yeah, I will do that, how do I start"

I have been trying to convince both ProtonMail and Tutanota to accept BCH as I already use their free service but would gladly upgrade my account should one of them begin accepting BCH.

Tutanota said they have no plans, and are just looking at enabling Bitcoin Core support atm, and ProtonMail just said it is something they would consider (they already accept Bcore for upgrading an existing account).

I have also been trying to get in touch with the right people at BrewDog to begin accepting BCH on their online store, a few of their bars already accept it and they have been supportive to BCH in the past so it seems like a no brainer to me, especially as a business like theirs could do with new revenue streams given the current lockdown in Europe and the US.

Just looking to see if anyone has any success stories, and maybe a few tips for how I can better sell businesses on this.

    Thanks,

The Lightning Network and the Religionization of Bitcoin

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 01:42 AM PDT

The Lightning Network is a killer application used in small bidirectional high-frequency transactions of cryptocurrencies. However, it was forced to take up all the payment functions of bitcoin after being incorporated into the Core road of small-block censorship resistance. As a result, the Lightning Network becomes rather complicated in technology and faces a series of business logic flaws, making it hard to succeed. People's unwavering support for the Core road and the recent Lightning Network fever did not result from the market demand but from the religionization of the faith in bitcoin. The religionization of bitcoin is a mutual threat for bitcoin itself and cryptocurrencies as a whole, while the Lightning Network is innocent.
