    Purse.io closing down :(

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 11:45 AM PDT

Just received the following email. I'd like to know more about the reasoning. It's a loss. I've used them often and saved big on my amazon shopping.

We've made the very difficult decision to dissolve the company. We're grateful for the opportunity afforded by our supporters to build products and infrastructure for the cryptocurrency community.

To everyone who used our products, told their friends, or helped us in any way, thank you.

We will continue to offer support for ongoing orders and withdrawals until June 26, 2020 to ensure all transactions and accounts are settled.

As of today, April 16, 2020 new signups have been disabled. Shop and Earn functionality will be disabled next week on April 23, 2020. Open orders that have not been matched will be canceled. Purse.io will cease all operations on June 26, 2020. If you have a balance on purse.io, please withdraw all funds as soon as possible.

It's been a privilege serving people all around the world. We're thankful for our customers who used purse.io increasing bitcoin's utility and distribution. We're also thankful to all the developers and companies who continue to support open source projects including bcoin and hsd. Thank you for helping us make crypto useful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email our support team at support@purse.io

I'm trying out the Marketplace section of local.bitcoin.com! Just listed my iPhone XR on there. Might list more items soon that I don't really use anymore. Come check out my stuff!

In light of Purse.io shutting down, be sure to give the "goods and services" section of local.bitcoin.com a shot. It may work well as an alternative.

Any good vpns that (accept bch) and can get around Netflix bans, so I can watch Friends. I was thinking of Proton Plus, but it only works for US servers. Any recommendations appreciated and if anyone knows Bitcoin ATMS that accept VOIP numbers that would also be nice.

    Cryptocurrencies and crysis

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 03:20 AM PDT

I believe that the price of BTC and BCH collapsed together with the stock market because the people needed liquidity. I believe that when the adoption by the stores increases, few people will begin to exchange crypto for FIAT because they will be able to spend it and therefore the price will not collapse in a crisis. What do you think?

[Lesson 101] How trolls gaslight you - /u/Aviathor

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:00 AM PDT

It's known that /r/bitcoin heavily censors any topics critical of Blockstream or Core.

As a result /r/btc was formed and looks to avoid censorship by giving people benefit of the doubt and a public mod log which /r/bitcoin removed. The obvious result of /r/btc relaxed moderation policy is that trolls spend a lot of time here gaslighting their users and often times won't be banned until it gets out of hand.

This week we're going to take a look at /u/aviathor and his method of gaslighting users.

    1) If you aren't aware /u/aviathor is on a several month spree telling users the correct names for Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. You can see many of his comments are the same copy paste comment with lots of bold use: https://www.reddit.com/user/aviathor

Calling Bitcoin "Bitcoin Core" is equivalent to calling Bitcoin Cash "Bcash"

And yet here he is using 6+ names for Bitcoin Cash, including the Bcash name he was advocating against.

    What is Bcash?

    What is BcashABC?

    What is Bcrash?

    What is Bitcoin Clashic?

What is "Bitcoin (ABC real BCH)"?

What is "Bitcoin Cash ABC Cool"?

    2) Yet he has no problem gaslightning users that the usage of "Bcash" is fine, because wikipedia was brigaded to include it and former Blockstream employees like Greg Maxwell were caught abusing and editing wikipedia until they were banned. Another excuse of his is that Amaury used it once in /r/bitcoin: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/g1sapw/ottos_new_north_queensland_drivethru_opened_today/fnkw4c6/

    3) OK fine, let him have it, but then when you point out that /u/aviathor has used 6 other terms for Bitcoin Cash, NOT included in wikipedia he goes silent every time: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/g1sapw/ottos_new_north_queensland_drivethru_opened_today/fnkx2tj/

How come you didn't get this upset when you used up to 6 different names for Bitcoin Cash?

    What is Bcash?

    What is BcashABC?

    What is Bcrash?

    What is Bitcoin Clashic?

What is "Bitcoin (ABC real BCH)"?

What is "Bitcoin Cash ABC Cool"?

It was a pleasure to call out your hypocrisy.

Are all of these in wikipedia too?

The lesson here is don't let the Core/Blockstream trolls gaslight you.

They act like they're on a mission to correct users, but when you post proof of them doing the same exact thing that they're crying about, there's never any response, they just dip. They only get upset when users flip the Blockstream propaganda campaign against them. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

    Purse.io Is Shutting Down

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:52 PM PDT

    Fun question for the ABC

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:00 AM PDT

Does ABC support the idea that BCH should have multiple implementations?

I thought it was generally accepted in BCH land that the protocol should have multiple implementations that compete and/or work together to build out the roadmap.

Does ABC support this idea in principal? Or is ABC trying to become the only implementation in the entire land?
