    Beginner’s question

Sorry if it sounds silly to the knowledgeable ones, but where can I buy + sell ethereum without 3rd parties in-between? An app? Or a trustworthy site?

How to code Linked Lists in Solidity

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 03:09 AM PST

I wrote an article about coding Linked Lists in solidity. Some of this research is what led to the creation of the EnumerableSet from OpenZeppelin. I hope you all like it.

Weigh in. Will Rollups (of whatever variety you favor) solve the biggest UX problem?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:04 AM PST

After two years of learning and development I just finished building a Dapp of significant complexity (outside the Maker / Auger class) and was really eager to show it off to some "Ethereum aware" but "non-web3-using" individuals... all accessed via smart phone ... and......... "WHAT'S METAMASK?"

I said, "forget it." I know I can't ask early beta-testers or any subsequent users to switch from a smartphone to a laptop/desktop or even download and learn how to use another app so you can access and use my app. De-fi harbors enough value-add to justify this for now. But it can't stay this way...

Hence my question: Will Rollup soon obviate the need for Web3 Browsers and remove the greatest barrier to Ethereum adoption?

The performance of 1,000 dapps: users-by-volume.

The performance of 1,000 dapps: users-by-volume.

Line on plot is fit between users-by-volume regression. Projects above it = more volume relative to users, projects below = more users relative to volume (note, again, on-chain vs. off-chain dynamics, many Dapps have off-chain focus right now). Data: dappradar.com

What are the cons of using zkSTARKS as opposed to zkSNARKS?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 07:50 PM PST

zkSTARKS seem to have the advantage as there is no trusted setup required. But now that we are seeing the first zkSTARK exchange go live (https://twitter.com/will_harborne/status/1233796053234782209), are there any cons?

Interview with Ingenico and Salamantex about integrating BTC, ETH & more into a POS-Terminal that is used by thousands of merchants

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:14 AM PST

Huge news from Germany/Austria. The interview has no subtitles but here are some key take aways and I recommend watching the demonstration from 13:33 on:

    - Ingenico is one of the largest manufacturers of point-of-sale terminals

    - They are working with Salamantex to add their software into their terminals.

    - The software could be activated in up to 400.000 Ingenico devices in Germany

    - But it's up to the PSPs and the merchants to activate this software

    - A1 Payments will be the first PSP in Austria to activate the software for a couple of thousand devices:
