Posted: 08 Mar 2020 02:09 PM PDT Please feel free to make a new account to answer. Of course there will be a trust issue and you'll need to be careful to not give away any personal info but I think this could work. At least personally I'll be happy to send you a few USD worth of BCH in a tip if anyone is willing to try this. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Cryptochecker is NOT creating a productive community here. Posted: 08 Mar 2020 01:04 PM PDT I would propose banning this bot as it doesn't lead to a productive environment. The original idea I think is stupid but at least possibly reasonable. A way for people to be able to weed out obvious trolls in the community. If someone has a highly negative karma in /r/btc you can safely make the assumption that they are a bad faith actor. That isn't how it's being used today. It's being used today by Egon(and others) as a way to signal to idiots that someone has ideas that aren't worth considering. It's a way for him to tell the hivemind to disregard their ideas. Not only that he is literally spamming threads with this stupid bot. The threads are becoming difficult to even read due to his incessant spamming. The hilarious thing is over half the time they spam this bot their karma is positive as is their karma average. https://i.imgur.com/mYIOOMj.png I'm posting this thread knowing that it's just going to be flooded with people spamming cryptochecker at me thinking it's funny and cute and calling me a core troll or whatever. In reality I'm posting this thread because I want to see this community be productive and succeed, and I sincerely don't think this is helping. [link] [comments]

Why Are BCH Block Times so Irregular? Posted: 08 Mar 2020 03:37 PM PDT As of writing this there hasn't been a BCH block in over an hour. Checking the recent past it seems this is an ongoing issue. Would someone please explain what's going on? Sorry if this is obvious to some but I haven't been paying close attention to the BCH news. Thanks. [link] [comments]

On the importance of good stewardship. Posted: 09 Mar 2020 02:23 AM PDT It's important. Stewardship is what you do when a thing has a life of its own, or when, for whatever reason, you don't want to control it (forever). Some things need time to develop. Typically, more sophisticated or intelligent things (systems) need more time to develop. A steward provides guidance and protection with focus on development, but perhaps most importantly, does no harm. Keeps all options available. Takes no potential away. You don't see much exploitation among good stewards of their charges. A steward may not even get paid directly for overseeing their charge. (In fact it is usually a costly role.) Obviously there is potential reward - which can be immensely gratifying. Stewards themselves will tell you the reward for a job well done is preferable over monetary payment. I'm not making a case for anything. I just wanted to make a brief post on the topic. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]
