The official ethereum wallet stopped working. The foundation should make it work

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 08:27 AM PST

I liked using the official Ethereum wallet that was always was on ethereum official site.now it changed doesn't show up on the site like it always did and stopped working entirely. Now the foundation recommends third party wallets only and the official wallet no longer works. The ethereum wallet doesn't even work anymore it will just freeze immediately with spinning wheel when opening and never actually opens. Why does the foundation no longer support the official wallet? It should still operate as it always did as of a few weeks ago. Now we have no official wallet? So what does ethereum.org recommend web based wallets that have in the past been hacked where users entered your keystore file and unencrypted it and the eth got sent to hackers address. So now the official wallet won't load, they no longer only offer the official wallet and only suggest web based wallets that could have websites that could and have been in the past periodically compromised. The foundation should use a tiny % of their giant bag of eth and restore the ethereum wallet to work like it did many people prefer this wallet. What is the safest wallet to use to enter a keystore and send eth? Can we please get this wallet back up and running? I have spoken with a few friends of mine in the community and we all want to use Ethereum wallet, it was working great previously with light sync and that software was always regarded as the safest wallet. Now we're supposed to trust a website won't be compromised and use that? Please help us in our efforts to restore the ethereum wallet and let me know which wallet would be safest to access keystore file in the meantime. Thanks
