New revolutionary wallet - Argent wallet

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 12:34 PM PST

Some of you might have heard about the Argent Wallet, but in case you haven't yet, here's what it is, why it's a revolution for blockchain and how to access it early.

If you have a "golden ticket" to spare, please share it as a comment.

The Argent wallet is a mobile wallet (iOS, Android), Ethereum only, with a great UX and super easy access to defi:

    • When setting up the app you get a free ENS username for easy transactions. No long and complex public key.
    • You can access defi and interact with several smart contracts with just a click. This includes earning interests from Compound, more to come soon™.
    • Transaction fees are not even visible in the app and are fully paid for by Argent. 100% free to use.
    • It's a smart contract wallet which allows special features such as setting a maximum daily transfers, or allowing only specific dapps.
    • Since it's a smart contract wallet, it allows a new kind of fund recovery in case you lose access. You can set trusted contacts (friends, family) that will allow you to recover what's in your account. No seed phrase to write down.
    • Fiat on-ramp is apparently already available on iOS, and soon™ on Android.

As you can see, most of the complexity that currently slows down onboarding on blockchain, Ethereum and defi has been completely abstracted away.

For blockchain's potential to reach the masses, getting rid of all the complexity is a mandatory requirement and they absolutely nailed it.

It may not be the wallet advanced users will choose but your mom will certainly love it.

In order to use the app today, there's a waiting line so a "golden ticket" (early access token) is needed. Each account created receives 3 tickets so I created this post to invite anyone who has a ticket to spare to share it as a comment.

    Disclaimer:

I'm not affiliated with them in any way, and wouldn't recommend putting all your funds on the wallet. Instead, just give it a try with spare change, it's really great.

Can someone explain Hashgraph to me

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 12:13 AM PST

I've been reading up on Hashgraph, but the technology still eludes me. I haven't been able to really understand what it actually does, or what uses it has for the real world.

Is there an actual token called Hashgraph or is it just a concept?

If someone could help me out here I'd really appreciate it.

ETH Has Been Outperforming BTC This Year In Terms Of Growth

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:17 PM PST

Too early to conclude, but based on Priyeshu Garg 's article on Cryptoslate:

"Ethereum has been outperforming Bitcoin this year in multiple metrics, as the world's largest cryptocurrency has been sluggish ahead of the May 2020 halvening. According to data from Skew, Ethereum has shown a 47 percent YTD price growth, outpacing Bitcoin's 29 percent. Ethereum futures and options have also seen a significant rise in volume."

What will a pro user Crypto exchange look like?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 04:41 PM PST

Out of curosity I would like to know what a user friendly Crypto Exchange will look like. What features and policies would make users happy?

I have been thinking about this for a while and I see users complaining about Crypto exchanges. I also saw the thread on coinbase limiting withdrawals to $10. So what does the CryptoCurrency community consider important factors?

    Question about reporting crypto taxes

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 04:18 PM PST

Sorry for posting here, but the crypto tax subreddits seem dead. Just trying to figure out if I only need to report Crypto gains on my taxes (lol) for 2019 and not input all of my trades for 2019 as well. Just confused because taxable events I made in 2019, buying one crypto for another, aren't showing up in my final Turbotax reports. I've used bitcoin.tax to help simplify the process, and just want to make sure I have put in everything I needed.

Are crypto projects without "traditional" business models sustainable? Would you rather support a project that did a large pre-sale upfront or a project that distributes a portion of tokens to the dev team over time?

What Features Do You Wish Your Crypto Exchange Had?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 01:24 PM PST

Friends recently started a new crypto exchange and we're now working together on promotion. The exchange works great, owners are honest guys with a tech background and I'm sure users would be happy to use their platform, but first, we need to reach people and let them know about the exchange.

I'm trying to come up with an idea - what to offer to users, to make them happy, so they'll spread the word.

Could you please let me know what would make an ideal crypto exchange? What features do you wish your crypto exchange had? What's most important for you when you're about to open an account with an exchange?

Please suggest any feature you would like to have with your crypto exchange.
