Owner of an address Craig Wright claimed to own signs a message that says it doesn't belong to him

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 09:02 AM PST

Dear Markets: I'm not selling my stash. I don't care how high the price is. If I can't buy it with BCH, then I'm not selling.

    Posted: 06 Feb 2020 12:22 AM PST

Very simple reasoning. Bitcoin is cash and if I can't buy a real economic good with it (besides expensive green toilet paper), then I'm not selling. I've never bought bitcoin with more than what I can afford to lose, and I budget in my money to buy every dip. I wait for the -15%'s.

You can keep trading like a loony clown at 0.5% of BTC, but no amount of up OR down swings will shake me. I'll stay put at $100, I'll stay put at $1000. You'll just have to trade without my added liquidy. I know, it sucks when hundreds to thousands of emotionally and ideologically invested individuals like me sit on their double/triple digits worth of BCH, and won't do a darn thing with them.

Respectfully, an ideologically firm BCH user

Just a reminder, make sure you write down your wallet seed

    Posted: 06 Feb 2020 02:08 AM PST

A old bitcoin.com wallet on my spare phone bugged out while updating. Said to contact customer services and not delete anything !!

Fortunately I knew where I had the seed written down and imported it into another .com wallet. Wasn't a large amount in there but still, the relief when the balance showed up !!

Write down your seeds and keep them safe ;-)

Genesis Upgrade by nChain has destroyed significant amounts of BSV

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 03:21 PM PST

EDIT: I am wrong. I made a mistake in this tx. Once I fixed the error, it went through. I did send an email to nChain before posting this without getting a reply. Regardless, I was still wrong.

While the Genesis upgrade rejects all new P2SH transactions (sending to addresses starting with a 3), you can still redeem BSV stored in those addresses.

This is not true of the OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY opcodes. They have been disabled. Any BSV stored in a time locked address cannot be moved anymore. They became worthless.

One example is at 3FAaJCTjPLjDWmJMgtokuU5jXjmtzhuZ5o which requires the OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY opcode to spend according to the script "0420923a5eb1754104e8bd934e16665aa946c61f052fce83a285f41b78018e464539b8fdc5c328711fc29df8f559e3286356d99d38a4a41df563e4a6d8f52619e7c613fa1985ba3b07ac" which has a redeem date and time of 2020/02/05 and time 00:00, so it couldn't have been spent before the Genesis upgrade by nChain. You can verify the script at https://coinb.in/#verify

I sent 0.000125 BSV & BCH each to 3FAaJCTjPLjDWmJMgtokuU5jXjmtzhuZ5o. The BSV was sent before the Genesis update.

    The BCH transaction is:

    01000000010dcce7444286487dc19e7a690a36e5bb2b0c51825ee83d6e4ab9b2908d318cd30000000094483045022100e4bae331f40a4d23f4d89ff9c0b8dc8edb133c653ea982cd1f8e76797884d56902201cf570978dcdfb456b4fbf00ff4e64371755b540444d2c0e116e0fd2c414b250414a0420923a5eb1754104e8bd934e16665aa946c61f052fce83a285f41b78018e464539b8fdc5c328711fc29df8f559e3286356d99d38a4a41df563e4a6d8f52619e7c613fa1985ba3b07ac0000000001e02e0000000000001976a914fa7c0dacb506afdc06c52fef856b4512ead4170088ac20923a5e

and redeems with no problem, txid: bdae915cab9d61ef03d1089cac0a947fb5d7494ee5674f9a07097c48a3182f27

    The BSV transaction is:

    010000000105c4eb0cdc6987b42531e617e9ab6078c290983b496f8faf8d7689dce44645180000000094483045022100d41fbe5a4eb20cc611f9c3923a9ff63cb77c33d901d9f11b72a30b4ba04301e10220357f51c4f0ddd4a3329c9b5d39162410dc34ec3041393956a427adf256e6c35d414a0420923a5eb1754104e8bd934e16665aa946c61f052fce83a285f41b78018e464539b8fdc5c328711fc29df8f559e3286356d99d38a4a41df563e4a6d8f52619e7c613fa1985ba3b07ac0000000001e02e0000000000001976a914fa7c0dacb506afdc06c52fef856b4512ead4170088ac20923a5e

However, the BSV network will reject it.

While the amount of BSV in this particular address is quite small, I am aware of addresses with large sums of BSV that now won't be spendable after they reach their valid redeem date.

All of these locked addresses were created before BTC/BCH fork and the subsequent BCH/BSV fork. So for every BSV a customer owns, they also own a BTC & a BCH. In other words, their BSV holdings are around 3% of their time-locked portfolio.

While 3% may not seem like much, it is shows that nChain is willing to destroy other people's BSV to make their own BSV more valuable. This is morally bankrupt. I can think of no other precedent in the history of cryptocurrency.

    Invest in Brewdog Using BCH

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 03:22 PM PST

Just a quick reminder guys that you can invest in the Scottish craft beer company Brewdog using your BCH as part of their equity for punks scheme.

This is about to close so I thought I might as well post here incase anyone would be interested.

Brewdog have been supportive of BCH in the past and accept it as payment at their canary wharf bar in London (which I will hopefully pop into next month!...:) )

1 share equates to about £25 or $30 so approximately 0.075 BCH per share

Bitcoin maximalism is not the same thing as BTC maximalism, is not the same thing as Hodl maximalism. The hate against bitcoin maximalism benefits scamcoins, and harms BCH.

    Posted: 06 Feb 2020 12:02 AM PST

plase stop the bitcoin maximalism hate. BCH is also bitcoin.
Use the term btc/hodl maximalism, to make a distinction.

Why is BCH better than Dash?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 06:12 AM PST

Honest question, and I'm asking the inverse over at r/dashpay.

Looking to understand the fundamentals and why it can win, rather than things like, "because a food truck in Thailand uses it." Adoption is great, but my question is more in regards to why BCH will win over Dash (or another competing crypto...)

(And no, this question has nothing to do with BTC. Not looking for a comparison to the lightning network, blockstream, etc)
