PSA: Robinhood does NOT sell bitcoin. Posted: 08 Feb 2020 06:11 PM PST What they are selling is an IOU basically for $ equivalent when you want cash back. You never own any bitcoin therefore they are not selling bitcoin. You can't withdraw, use, send, buy anything with or do anything whatsoever with what they are selling. Too many new folk are getting suckered into this fake form of owning bitcoin. TLDR: If you are buying bitcoin on Robinhood you don't actually own any bitcoin. [link] [comments]

Amidst all the post-$10k celebrations, don't neglect the basics Posted: 08 Feb 2020 08:09 PM PST Make sure you're all eating well, exercising, getting to bed on time, and tending to school, your jobs, and families. This is certainly an exciting moment in history. But let's be sure not to forget the other things in life that are important as well. /soapbox [link] [comments]

Bitcoin Taken for NYC Apartment Deposits Posted: 08 Feb 2020 08:34 PM PST I just found a new apartment in NYC and the real estate broker needed a deposit and wouldn't take personal checks "because they bounce." They need TRUST and instant transfer of a large sum on a Saturday when banks are closed. Sure enough they took Bitcoin! This was the first time I've ever NEEDED Bitcoin. Seeing them hand me their Bitcoin QR unprompted brought an instant smile to my face along with an audible laugh. Just thought I'd share the experience. Bitcoin definitely has a place and is being adopted. [link] [comments]

I really have a good feeling this time, there is not such a hype about 10k now? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 10:09 PM PST I have to say this time I really have a good feeling we stay above 10k, not much hype around it, we kinda got used to it. The rollercoaster is headed towards 20k.... Posted: 08 Feb 2020 07:26 PM PST Obviously most people with this mindset are hoping that bitcoin becomes the new standard at some point, but before that will you ever sell? Maybe 5 or 10% to take some profit? Which begs the question, what would you do with that money? For bitcoin to reach x market cap, then money from real estate and stocks etc must flow into bitcoin, so do people here invest in index funds? [link] [comments]
