Posted: 28 Jan 2020 12:21 PM PST Hi I am not sure if this is allowed exactly, but I haven't seen any info about it yet and I want to warn about a well made scam attempt. Today I got a discord PM saying I won 0.36 BTC. Obviously I know it's a scam, but I went onto a vpn and with a trash email account to see whats up. The discord message simply said to make an account on razebit.com and then enter this code to receive 0.36BTC. The website itself is a fairly well made and official looking exchange website. They clearly went though a lot of effort for this scam. I entered the code and what do you know my account balances shows 0.36 BTC. When you go to withdraw of course though I get an error saying new account isn't verified until you deposit at least 0.02 BTC. I just wanted to make this to hopefully prevent anyone from falling for it. Since the website is so well made I worry at least some people might get trigger happy and send $180 worth of BTC to these guys. Obviously once you do that, that's it you won't be able to withdraw anything. [link] [comments]

Theta Network- Scamming with the help of Coinmarketcap Posted: 28 Jan 2020 05:19 PM PST Using the official chat link from coinmarketcap I decided to join their telegram to find out about the coin. Within 10 seconds of joining I was banned from their channel and 2 different people claiming to be admins we're trying to force me to buy 20000 theta to get unbanned, I tried this with multiple account, same result every time Coinmarketcap linking to scams like this in embarrassing. Posted: 29 Jan 2020 02:34 AM PST Hi r/CryptoCurrency, first post for me here. Been doing research on crypto as a whole as it's always fascinated me over the years. Finally have disposable income to make investments this year with crypto being one of them. Wanted to ask you if there really is a difference in either using Binance or Coinbase? I see good things mentioned about both of them and notables figures using one or the other. Thanks for your thoughts and excited to get into the crypto game for the long run :) [link] [comments]

Decentralized Funding - The NavCoin DAO Posted: 28 Jan 2020 01:02 PM PST There's been a lot of talk lately about the use of mining rewards as a form of self funding for cryptocurrency projects. So I thought I'd bring your attention to a project that has already been doing this very thing for over a year now. Late in 2018 the NavCoin network implemented it's DAO - a decentralised financing tool that receives 0.5 NAV per block staked to help self fund the network. The NavCoin DAO runs a dual consensus voting system that - to my best knowledge - is not used anywhere else in the blockchain space. Projects are approved for funding and payment using a two-stage voting process - one vote for the initial proposal, then a second for payment request once the work is complete. Voting is done via nodes staking (validating) the network, and anyone is encouraged to take part. 1 stake = 1 vote. I feel like self funding is going to play an important part in taking that next step towards legitimate decentralization, and the NavCoin DAO is using it's own unique system to try and achieve this. If anyone's interested to look further you can find more info here. There's also a technical paper for anyone interested. DISCLAIMER: I am a part of the NavCoin community. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Jan 2020 01:15 PM PST I have been utilizing Pei and Lolli and moving my BTC to Blockfi and earning interest. I have no intention on selling any time soon so I figured this was an easy way for me to accrue bitcoin without doing anything. They recently rolled out support for USDC at an astounding 8.6% interest rate annually. How can they offer such a high-interest rate? Any help or clarification on this would be great. It seems like a very legit company since they are backed by some big funds but it just seems unsustainable! [link] [comments]
