    Bitcoin.com Update on Developer Funding

We are a group of miners opposing the BTC.TOP proposal, and we have an update on our earlier post

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 09:49 PM PST

We have taken notice of Bitcoin.com post here. We trust Bitcoin.com are going to be able to convince the rest of the signatories to severely amend the IFP. We are therefore standing down and will not start our competing pool for the time being and will continue to support the BCH pools instead.

We would also like to thank the community to be able to have such a civilized discussion over this issue.

    One word: Played!

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 02:49 AM PST

Recently u/shadow-kwh came out of nowhere and assured us that they will fork the chain with some imaginary hashrate. I call BS on their hashrate and I am of the opinion that they just wanted to stop the Miners plan and now can disappear without even a proof of the hash they "have" or even funding the Devs.

Single word: Played. You got played. We got played. They played us. It's as easy as that.

The miners that wanted to help the BCH Devs got a big F.U. from this "community".

Prove me wrong about this imaginary miner please!

    BCH Dev Fund: My Thoughts

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 11:57 AM PST

The community deserves a formal withdraw of the proposed changes by the signatories. The hashwar and split from the proposed change will harm Bitcoin Cash more than the benefits it proposes to give.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 09:50 AM PST

We've heard from people on both sides: miners, developers, business leaders and users.

Funding development in the cryptocurrency space has always been a difficult problem to solve and no cryptocurrency has solved it in a decentralized way. People end up being the problem in cryptocurrency projects - who decides where the money goes.

No matter what side you agree with or if you're still undecided, one thing is true:

This change will cause another unneeded and painful split in the community. From what I've seen, there is a strong correlation between upward price movements and new user growth. A hashwar would likely cut the price in half, or worse. Adoption of Bitcoin Cash will again be stalled and delayed.

The above situation would be much worse than any marginal benefit that the developer fund would bring.

BitcoinCore's price would be unaffected, causing BCH to lose more ground.

With knowledge of the above, the signatories should withdraw the proposed plan in a timely manner.

At this point I believe the original intentions were good. This debate has been healthy, but we also need a healthy resolution to show the world that this project is serious about remaining decentralized for future generations.

Where can I see a budget and a timeline of deliverables that's being committed to be developed from the miners funding initiative?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 02:52 PM PST

I keep hearing about $6M being raised for development.

Back in my day, if I wanted $6M for development, I had to present a set of actionable deliverables, a budget, and a timeline.

I'm sure these things exist and I just haven't seen them. Because no reasonable person would just throw $6M at some devs and hope for the best. This is business not a charity.

Where do BCH holders vote for this miner proposition? There is a lot of noise in this sub and I see a lot of BSV supporters and non-BCH supporters chiming in.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 01:17 PM PST

I would love to see how people voting with their BCH are voting for this proposition. Where is that being done?

How I learned to stop worrying and love the chaos.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 06:07 AM PST

Step one: Write down all the possible outcomes of the current scenario.

Step two: For each one, accept it as reality, if that is what the universe deems will be happening. Let go of your attachment to things happening a certain way. Replace needs and wants with preferences.

Step three: Take any appropriate actions now to either steer the outcome in a direction you want, as well as preparation for if it doesn't happen the way you want.

Step four: Remember that you are mortal. That Bitcoin is only a decade old. That this is merely one more chapter in the very long book of human history. Reflect on the fact that you are part of history and on the side of peer to peer cash. Smile.

Remind me again why a simple transparent Crowdfunding contribution address run by a few parties who are regularly audited wouldn’t solve the dev funding problem in a decentralized manner overnight? I would contribute monthly.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 09:32 AM PST

Seriously. Just crowdfund dev contributions so there are no favorites or conflicts of interest. Distribution can be decided based on top contributors or something. This isn't that difficult.
