    2x 1660 Ti vs 1x 2070 Super

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 07:13 AM PST

Hello all, I am new to mining and am currently stuck between choosing 2x 1660 Ti cards or 1x 2070 Super for my first rig. My budget for graphics cards is ~$560. If I were to go with the 1660 Ti cards, they would be slightly more powerful than the 2070 Super. However, the 2070 Super will be more future proof with 8 gb of RAM, would sell better in a few years, and would not fill up my case as quickly. Do I go for resale value and future-proofing, or do I go for more power? Something else to note is that I have a 6 GPU Veddha case which limits me to 6 GPUs in the future.

    New Rig issues

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 05:38 PM PST

So I have just built a new mining rig and the hardware is as follows.

    Motherboard: Asrock H110+ BTC

    RAM: 8 gb ddr4 2133mhz

    CPU: Intel Celeron 3900

    GPUs:

    1x igame 1650 4gb

    1x zotac 1060 6gb

    1x gigabyte 1060 3gb

    10x zotac p106-90s 3gb

I do not have a SSD or HHD as I was planning on running NHOS as I do with my amd rig. I can only get 4 gpus to post the igame, zotac 1060 and 2 p106s before nhos gives me a blank black screen. I am wondering if it is something to do with my bios settings. I could use any help, other then this roadblock everything seems to be operational. Thank you in advance

RX 590 performing worse than RX 580 (8 GB versions)

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 09:48 AM PST

So... I recently upgraded from an Asrock 580 8gb to a Gigabyte 590, and I'm getting worse hashrates in ETC/ETH in Phoenix and Claymore.

Those are VRAM intensive algos, so usually OC'ing the VRAMS up to 2200 MHz would do me about 30.5 MH/s on my 580... but why am I getting 27.5 MH/s on my 590?

Could it be because of the Adrenaline drivers are better for the 580 due to it being much older? My RX 590 is a "Revision2.0" RX 590, for whatever it's worth, and it uses Samsung new memories (K4G80325FC) which aren't yet supported in PBE 1.7.2 as of today. But, IIRC, I didn't BIOS-mod my 580, and yet, I was getting 30.5MH/s on that one, even if it had a mix of Hynix and Micron memories, which I thought were worse quality (and performed worse) than Samsung mems.

Anyone have a clue what to do to get a performance boost to my RX 590? I don't wish much, just about the same to 10% better than the RX 580, which is what it supposedly rated for.

    Any help = vastly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Issues with mining

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 09:07 AM PST

Hello, I followed the old guide to solo-mine Ravencoin (using Miningcore and T-Rex) and I am constantly getting this error: [FAIL] 0/102 - low difficulty share (7,04440354782E-08), 10ms

Using a nvdia 2080 on Windows 10 btw.

What exactly am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help!
